Dear TGFR members and guests,
This is the official announcement to inform you that after the US Open this board will terminate it's existence.
We have come a long way through hard work and wonderful help from many members to keep this place up and running but the administration feels that it is time for all of us to move on. Our lives are so hectic and busy that we do not find it any longer possible to keep this forum up and running.
We are grateful to all the members, past and present, for making this place such a great, informative and fun board to be. Thank you all for hard work and so much entertainment.
We have decided not to shut it down right away so that all of you have a chance of saving interviews, photographs and other Marat memorabilia you would like to keep.
This is a join decision of the whole administration and is not to be questioned or changed. We hope you understand our stance.
Kind regards,
TGFR Administration

This News has come to a complete shock to me! I never thought i would have seen this day coming - Im quite sad.
Anyway we all move in life and lets just enjoy the rest we have to offer, Pics, Interviews, fan stuff and no double posts whilst respecting Marats personal life at all times LOL
Thanks Admin for all the years!

Wow... what a bummer. Especially considering he is supposed to keep playing until Bercy. Like you said Safinno1 - we have to move on, just like Marat Thanks to the Admins for all their hard work over the years.

Well, this is sad...just when I've discovered you!
Don't get me wrong, good for you admins for taking care of you, of course everyone has to move on...and as Marat retires of course there is really no point in keeping the site running.
I guess these last weeks will be the bussiest here...photos and interviews to save, just to keep a memory of the delicious Marat for all those years to come when you will need to take a look at something you used to like/discuss so much when you were young...
Quite the end of an era, so to speak...

Sniff. Can I take you all over to Andy Murray's website then? I will ensure you all become honorary Scots. ;D Haggis all round! Thank you to the admins for their patience and hard (very hard) work. :-*And thanks to everyone for making me smile ... and indulging my fairy godmother rants. Will miss the board, but hopefully the Big Yin will go on to have a happy life after tennis and we can still read about it now and again and wish him well. Hugs and kisses to you all. Hope you all have long and happy lives after Marat too. FG PS In the meantime, I better get my copy of that pic of the Big Yin in his 'Scottish' t-shirt with his budgie and his dodgy pipe ... Dubai wasn't it ... Eek, can't remember ...

I think one of the things I will miss most about the site is your great sense of fun (and the fairy godmother rants) Mary ;D

I've been visiting this forum for a long time, and since this is IT, I'm joining it. I'm really amused with Mary, haha, and some Annie...and of course, Marat... This is sad, but aren't you going to follow him 'til Paris? My heart can't take it no more...
And a good question: what kind of shutting down? Is this forum going for the archives once it's all been done? Or you aren't gonna post here anymore?

The forum will be locked once the USO is over. Noone will be able to post things on it anymore. Next year once the domain expires, it will go into archives.

LMAO. Only just read the last couple of posts ... Maybe I should set up my own "check the MaryB.com" site ... I could be the equivalent of a Russian meerkat .. I'd look just as good in the velour smoking jacket ...
Wonder if Mrs Annie would manage me ... Kiddin'!
If only my parents had had the wit to put me on a tennis court with my raquet as a child ... instead of the streets of Glasgow. The passing cars stopped me from mastering my backhand! I could have had my own site!!!
Will be sorry to see the site go - but the Andy site offer still stands!

I believe we will have access until the domain "www.guyfromrussia.com" expires. Once that takes place, we will no longer be able to view the site... correct?
