Is there an exact time that the site will cease?

I am not one for long or sad goodbyes, so I will say it was so nice getting to know you all and meeting some of you in person ;D. I hope to see you around, in cyberspace maybe on MTF or Mary's blog and in person, maybe in Moscow or London sometime soon
I've been thinking about finding myself another obsession but I am having trouble finding someone worthy. Roger, too perfect and too greedy [come on, let someone else win a GS every now and then ]. Rafa, mmmm, I don't think he will [or his knees] will be around for much longer . Andy, maybe not an obsession, but I may pop up on the OS to say HI. Novak NO [nothing more to say on that]. Another Russian maybe, Dmitry? Who? Yeah, he has kinda disappeared without a trace.
There just doesn't seem to be anyone that can fill Marat's oh so large shoes. If anyone has any suggestions.....................

Anyway i will be long asleep when this forum is locked so im gonna say my byes now - funny enough i dont anyone will read this as it is pretty late unless you in the Americas!

I can honestly say that for me personally i wont join another tennis forum as compared to TGFR it wont be beaten i mean ive been here since about 2004 with the staff (Anna, Anette, Laurita, Emma, Elisabeth - Who i adore to pieces) and old members who left this thread (karen - Teresa etc etc) & Ruth and thats 5 good years of routine visiting this site every day on Holidays too and all the fun posts. It would take me another 5 years to find something as nice as this but it wont happen as Marat is number 1 and my other fav players Roger - there are a million fans, Rafa likewise and the other russians dont seem to be too popular with specific forums and websites. Marats fan base was enough to know everyone. My new player is Ernests Gulbis however he doesnt seem to be fulfilling his potential but im looking for guyfromlatvia forum and no luck LOL Besides he is not Marat who i will always be loyal too -even when he weighs 18 stone like Kafelnikov LOL

Anyway if anyone reads and wants to keep in touch i have an e-mail [e-mail] and would love to keep in touch with the safinettes!

Momo i like the website i will visit good luck with the updating not that there will be much to do after November!

Okay... I know I haven't been posting lately, but it felt nice to know you were all still here and Marat was still playing, while hoping to get back to the old addiction habits once I finish with some boring stuff in my life
Ah, well... It's consoling that all these "TGFR things" meant something more, and I know I disappeared and it hasn't seemed for a while now that i actually DO think about you people .
The most precious thing for me here, apart from the contacts we've made ( and I still wanna keep in touch with you, you won't get rid of me that easily, you know ;D, I love you too much to let that happen , was all that laughter we had together . So, I spent some time saving some of the conversations and posts, and I have to tell you, once again I caught myself laughing like mad in front of my computer screen. I just couldn't let all that stuff disappear. DC and Kremlin Cup reports, Traveling thread, some of the games, Trippin' thread (yea, I saved that on time, AND twice, knowing it was a risky area and someone could actually delete it )...
And Avalon, I think we'll have to try hard and find a new addiction, because we own it to our new-found/advanced abilities lol.

This was truly wonderful experience and I'm gonna miss you, and this board, and Marat, our everlasting inspiration . Take care and see you soon!

And, just one question: Why The Board has to be deleted, can't it stay here, just locked?

With very mixed feelings I am about to lock this board.

I joined the forum when the website still existed, a couple of days after Marat kicked serious ass and won the Australian Open. A few months later I became an admin here and it has been a large part of my life ever since...

Thank you Ruth for coming up with a brilliant idea of founding this place and thank you for your trust in me and other girls to hand this place over when you stepped down

Thank you Marat Safin for 9 years of heart attacks, grey hair and lost nervous cells.

Thank you Marat Safin for bringing a hell of a lot of wonderful people into my life. Annette, Emma, Denise, Francis, Alex, Annabel, Dianne, Saba, Lena - it's been a blast seeing you guys in person and spending time with you. Here's to many more tennis tournaments and trips together!
