hey guys I was so surprised when i saw this thread......i cant believe the site is shutting down!!! where will we all go?  ?? i don't want to be just a face book junkie i loved this website even though recently i haven't posted much!!! but it kept me going though my four years of phd studies and i will be so sad to see it and all of you go!!!! also the worst thing is i lost my hard drive on my lap top a few months ago and all my marat pic and tennis streams were on it!!! i was so depressed about that!!! But i thought that this site would be here for ever and i could just browse through the pages. BUT NOW PANIC IS KICKING IN.....i shall spend some time going through the pages and saving some stuff i think!!!! The best thing i lost (actually it was the worst if you know what i mean) was my live stream file of Marat beating federer in the semi at the Aussie open in 2005........it was the best match i ever saw not just because it had Marat in it!!!! Oh well this is life!!! thank you to all the admin and all the members who have done so well to keep this site going. thanks to all who kept me always up to date on the scores while i should have been working!!! ;D ;D ;D I will miss this site very much!!!!!! xxxxxx |

PS  Frensje. right back at ya! Hey Frens, I am trying to figure out what is stopping me heading to Moscow for the Kremlin Cup for one last Marat go around  Di Hey Di *huggies*! How have you been, girl!!!!! I've figured out that myself as well, and have come up with 2 (very important) reasons ..... 1: the new job i'm going to start with at september 14th ... would not be a very good idea to go on a holiday right away, right and 2 .... maybe even more important ..... the BF .... not that he won't let me go or something ( i mean,  he should try that, LOL) but he has something very important going on at that period, and if i do want to keep being his GF, i better be there at that time, and not be in moscow  But i guess one lovely admin, and some other very sweet girls from here wouldn't mind seeying you at all  |

Gonna keep this short and sweet otherwise I shall ramble! This site was not only the place where we could follow and support our favourite tennis player, but more importantly, was somewhere where I have met the most fantastic people who I can call my friends! Thinking way back in the day to the mulan girls (love you all! ) and everyone else (you know who you are! ) I could never have imagined by joining this forum would enable me to meet some fab girls (and guy - Ily ) A big thank you to the admins for making this forum what it is - especially you annie you have done a truly wonderful job. All I can say, is this forum will be missed (I am with Iman, frantically saving some awesome marat pics lol) and thank you for all the memories!!!  |

What is there to say that hasn't already been said? I'm glad to have a found a place to share the love of Marat, and tennis, and my time spent here has been mucho fun. ;D I'm glad to have gotten to know new people (and met a couple in person  . I wish there was more time to get to know more of you all. Thanks to the Admins for all their hard work. You all are amazing! It's a shame it has to come to an end, and it will definitely be missed. *hugs* to all  |

I must say I feel sad that TGFR is shutting down soon.  Marat caught my attention in 2004 when he played Hopman cup with Fabrice Santoro and Jiri Novak. Though I had been watching tennis since I was a little girl with my dad and I had fun (that's it), I had never felt so thrilled and fascinated by any player's game, charisma, and his..hm..beauty . I didn't know Marat was former No. 1, beating Sampras in 2000 as I was struggling with my dissertation during 2000-2001. The style and passion with his game just struck me right away! Then I started to follow his matches (AO 2004), and was so glad that he reached the final. Then I started to google on his information and tennis history and later, found this fantastic forum. Admins have done a great job keeping this site decent, passionate and supportive of Marat. I have great respect for what Annie, Annette, Lau, Ily's efforts and most importantly, checking out this site has sort of become part of my daily life routine. I don't know what it is going to be like when there's no TGFR. Yet I understand that at some point, Marat is gonna retire and dear Admins can't manage this site forever as they have their priorities to take care of. Yet, all in all, I am grateful that I have met many tennis/Marat fans in here and get to share the beautiful piccies/fan reports either taken by other fans or me. Thank you all! Best of luck to dear Marat. Hope you shine like you have done in the tennis circus on your future projects! I have enjoyed your game, character, quotes, interviews, ups and downs, interactions with fans, etc... The sweet and great memories will always be somewhere in my heart. |
