hey guys, i really don't think that the french r that unkind and believe me i have all the reasons not to like them i'm algerian and they've colonized us for 132 years i think the reason why french don't speak english to u is that first they don't speak it that well than they have that idea about english speakers who expect everybody to understand them i think this langage probleme is worse in uk when i was there i was asking like " where is the police station, please ? " ok with a strange accent but ppl where like what ? and i insisted poliCe station then after 100 times one tells me " ahhhhhhhhhhhh the p'leece station " i was like as for the french / brits relationship , liz, do'nt u think the olympic games in london might have complicated the it ? this thread is eally great ahhhhhhh sacré francais ;D

I also think that the olympic games in london have complicated our relationship. But I 've got to say I was extremely disappointed when they announced that France wouldn't welcome the games. Tony Blair isn't innocent in all that story....Polotic shouldn't be mixed with sport...

Hey Elisabeth. How do the french view us Brits coz if i remember Jacque and Tony has a spit of words. Both being idiots if u ask me. Well, I won't lie...Most of French people think that English are snob and mocking.(I guess we have the same image) But they also think that you have a great sens of humour. ;D ;D France and England have a strange "relationship". We used to be your enemies... ;D And, I guess french people didn't like that English's politiciens supported Bush's politic and his action in Irak. But since those horrible attacks in London, I really think that french people feel closer to your country . In general, french is a country which is withdrawing into oneself.... thanks Elisabeth

yeah so sad what's happening there i'd really like to have ur point of view about that, liz but what i'd like to say is that besides the political aspect of this what i find great is how the french media is dealing with it : showing everything and letting everybody speak his mind ...france is now one of the/ the most democratic country imo cnn is making too much noise around that ........great coverage as long as it happens in europe

Well i'm in Paris now and for the moment there era no problem here, even if a lot of young and parents are scared!!! The most of the troubles are in the suburbs!! But we don't have any info here, the media don't give us a lot of info and so we don't understand what's going on and how it's begun!!

God....the last weeks were horrible! I was at uni this week...and even in Metz, people started burning cars and stores. Then, I'm back at home....and friend told me that an arabic lobby destroied 20 trucks and a house in our region! Can u believe it? I'm very angry....come on...I don't understand how they can do that! Now, many poor people can't go to work cos they lost their car and many of them will probably lose their job now... Violence isn't the solution...

Oh Elisabeth, feel so sorry about that. violence would never be a solution, but I don't belive, that some minister here in germany would have "survived" in his position if he had choose words like from sarkozy...
