LOL! Girls. Just watching the replay of the Opening Ceremony at the moment, the real thing was on at 3.30am. I think the Iraquis so far have the biggest cheer. Apparently they did not even have a flight out of Bagdad until the last minute, and the flight out is actually pretty hair raising as the planes have to take evasive manouvres just in case there is a SAM waiting for them. Talk about a flight where you're too scared to get air sick. Even so the team made it out to Jordan in an Aussie Hercules and flew on to Athens far more sedately and looked so happy to be competing. Thanks for that info on the Iraquis, and yes they did get a real big cheer. Hope you got to see the whole ceremony, it was really very very well done, and hope you got to see Marat

Our team has currently 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bonze, so the swimmers are doing well as per usual.
Gold to Thorpe, Silver to Hackett in the 400 mens Freestyle
Gold to the girls in the 4x100 Womens Freestyle Relay
Diving Bronze to Chantelle Newbery and Irina Lashko in the women's 3m synchro and Robert Newbery and Mat Helm in the men's 10 metre.
The 3 Day Event (Equestrian) starts at 8.30 Athens time/5pm Aussie time, so maybe we will get to see some of Andrew and the others in his team ride today!

ahem ahem..... my team lost both women's singles yesterday. first round. our top player somehow managed to draw the world no. 1 and the other one...i dunno what happened.
i think one of our table tennis girls made it to the next round. PHEW! her boyfriend plays today i think...against the WORLD NO. 1 in badminton...brilliant...just brilliant...then again...he's ranked 10th...so he might pull off an upset...GO RONALD!!!!!!!
congrats to everyone who've won medals!!!
and chris...i don't watch the olympics ENTIRELY for the hot bods (though it helps) but for the sportsmanship!!! and the awwwwwww moments...like when the korean teams came on! ;D

Jiat, watch for the Argentinians. I'm just "Sport? There's sport happening?" when I watch that team. LOL! Those blokes were the hottest set of blokes I saw in the entire athletes parade as a group.Other teams had individual hotties, but the Argentinians I could watch all day. ;D
