Welcome Tsarevna Thanks Anita for the webmonkey job! ... i just came back from vacation, it takes time to read all your posts guys... but anyway it's good to be back among you all. I had a good time reading this thread (thanks Magda for the report.... and i'm sorry that they stopped showing Marat's match to show football.... why do they act this way? ... they never stop showing football to show tennis, right?! ...) Santa, if you want to be a Safin fan you just have to accept this things. It's a part of the job. We suffer and suffer, but when he wins we're in nirvana. Being his fan you also get the rewards which you'll never get with another player. Proudly read his interviews and say, or think: "and I'm his fan!" When he plays incredibly well (yes it's rare, yet still...) you get to enjoy all the praise he gets. And that praise if also unique. That's beautiful Vass !!! ROTRL.... can i join the club? ;D

Thank you for the welcome, guys! ;D See, you're a friendly bunch. Although I don't think I can keep up with the frequent posting here, I'll try to get my two cents in whenever I find the time... Oh, I sure hope I can do more than just read through the threads! Oh, and my avatar's Romain Mesnil, champion French pole vaulter. He and Marat are two of the most beautiful and most interesting male athletes in the world.

hippo story...toronto right? or am i suffering fr amnesia again?
anyway...here's the aftermath of THAT! and i'm not talkng abt my ongoing obsession with hippos
this is a quote from SI - Jon Wertheim:
The intrigue surrounding Marat Safin's "hippo story" continues. Mariya of New York writes: "It was actually a loose retelling of a Russian fable. I believe it was written by Ivan Krylov, who was a 19th century Russian writer who mostly penned fables, writing many famous ones. As I recall from reading the press-conference transcript, Safin didn't claim to make the story up -- he asked the journalist whether he knew it. It's a relatively famous one in Russia. So, he stole it, but definitely not from Along Came Polly.
