Olya, I believe you don't like Marat (it's ok for me) so you aren't maybe objectiv whit him... You see him with your idea and maybe another person see him differently... It's genrally like that with a celebrity,... It's my opinion... I'm maybe in the error... Sorry: my english isn't perfect  |

I'm not gonna say anything new here, but okay... I understand that the way Marat acted doesn't add anything positive to the image you have of him. But then again...that is just ONE side of his personality. Luckily, people aren't TEXTalways TEXT angry, or grumpy. Everyone has many different sides to them, and unfortunatly for you, you got to see his grumpy side. But that doesn;t mean that he is a jerk all the time. Yet I do understand your dissapointment. Hope you will get to see him in a good mood one of these days  |

Ok, anything can happen with anybody. Don't get me wrong, I like Marat a lot. But I had a chance to see and speak to him and I tell you the truth, he is not a sweetheart. The mood is one thing, but good manners - it's totaly different. He is great guy with a great sense of humor, but at the same time, Marat is very spoilt ,and he could be very impolite with other people.

And he's rarely too impolite ("too" very noticably). |

I know that everything I write can be argued w/ "maybe it was a bad day"...it's seriously annoying. I'm not one of those trolls, trying to bash your board, calling the celebrity names. I'm telling you what I saw. I'm also patriotic, so trust me, I wouldn't go around saying smth like this about a Russian player for nothing. |

We wouldn't be his true fans if we didn't defend him! But please don't feel offended because of it, it hasn't been anything against you, we just try to explain & undestand his behaviour and we want him to do well, and as Teresa already said it's always good to get an objective view (at least from time to time ), so please keep on reporting! I understand that you report what you see and it's always interesting to read to know how Marat & Co are doing! I hope you enjoy the tourney despite the rain and I too hope that you get to see the more sunny side of Marat (like Beth did)! |

Many of the responses to this report are a classic case of shooting the messanger. Olya reported what she saw in a factual way IMO. but many of the posts are a cricism of the reporter as if she were responsible for his what I consider Marat's crass behaviour. If I were at an event and was lucky enough to see/hear him first hand, I would be hesitant to share what I saw. Only one or 2 of the posts have said "thank you for the report, Olya." Not all of Marat's behaviour needs to be defended or excused, sometimes what he does is completely inappropriate and should be recognized as such.

Since when giving one's opinion, been objective constitutes as 'shooting the messenger'  No one as far as I can read disputes that Olya gave a good factual report. I totally disagree, how on earth can you conclude (1) that many of the posts are a cricism of the reporter, and (2) thus holding the reporter responsible for Marat's....what you call.....'crass behaviour Most of the posts were, contained disappointment, shock, felt only one side of his personality was been portrayed, saddened that Olya has seen this side of his personality and hoped that she would see some of the other really wonderful and good sides/attributes blah blah blah............. And where on earth did you read/begin to imagine that anyone was holding Olya responsible for Marat's behaviour.............I mean that's bizarre  You know you are entitled to consider Marat's so called behaviour as 'crass' that's your opinion, but don't tell me I have to agree with you That's your problem.....I for one could care less if you were lucky enough to see/hear Marat first hand. Soooooooooo NOT TRUE go back and re read, I read a lot of 'thank you's.'. I don't l think there was anyone who did not say 'thank you' . We all appreciated Olya's reports, but at the sametime defended Marat where we/I felt we needed/wanted to defend Marat. You decided for yourself what you feel you need to defend or excuse, and let me be the judge of what I choose to defend, excuse, or find inappropriate about Marat. So when you make these statements I would appreciate it if you make it clear that it is your opinion and not a statement of such dictatorial porportions |
