After my shift ended I decided to go see some the big names practise. And just as I got a seat right behind the small (less than a meter high) fence, I see Safin coming onto the court.
He's not as tall as you'd think, compared to the other players he doesn't really stand out.
I was sitting right behind his chair, so at first I was really excited.
To tell you honestly my opinion of him got worse and worse as time progressed.
During his practise, every time he made an error he gave dirty looks to his raquet, and then spit.
He also sweared quite a bit.
During one of his breaks, he was sipping water and some guy that was w/ him (I dunno who he is, but I saw him on some pics you guys posted here...tall, kinda chubby, w/ a pony tail) told him he recently broke his toe
Marat "Who gives a shit about your toe man?"
(for those of you that speak Russian he also likes to say "ouhuet' blyad' " a lot.
His massage therapist or whoever he is, the relatively short blonde man in his 40s I'd say, has no respect for pple. Some man behind me was talking to him in Polish, their conversation lasted the entire time, and he kept on waving his freaking hands in my face, until he knocked my hat off (accidentally). "Sorry". Yeah...w/e.
Another man started asking Safin about Israel during another break
"how was it in Israel Marat?"
Marat didn't even turn to him, but he nodded his head and then in a low voice said "good"
"You were all over the papers w/ that baskettball player"
no response
"Is he going to Moscow now"
"How the hell should I know, what am I..the press?"
Then some other Russian player came...I have to say, also decent looking and MUCH better behaved. He asked him where he was this morning, he said he was w/ Dasha.
Marat likes to check his cell phone every 15 minutes.
He smirked at another player.."Have you gained some weight?"
Let me see..I think that's all I can remember for now
