Doesn't look good for Russia. Have to say, I don't blame Marat at all for not going to Buenos Aires to play but it does seem that the Russian team plays better with him (and Misha) around, even if only in supporting roles. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst...can't see Nalbandian losing his singles match, whatever happens with the doubles and with Del Potro's match.

Who says they don't like the tennis schedule? It’s been jammed full of significance since March and shows no signs of slowing down. Just when we thought we might get a breather, here come the Davis Cup semifinals; here comes the return of heavy-duty, 3-out-of-5, clay-court tennis; here come the rabid, soccer-fed crowds in Spain and Argentina; and here comes Rafa, Roddick, Kolya, Nails, the Eye-Gores, and even Spaceman Sam. Must be tough to be a player, but what do we care? It’s been a great year to be a fan.Truer words have never been spoken. ;D It's not that shocking to see Spain and Argentina up 2-0 in their respectives ties, but the scorelines for today ... would've thought they'd be the other way around ... props to Sam and Andy for hanging around longer than it could have been (weird stat: both matches were 3 hours, 17 minutes today, hehe) here's to some good doubles matches tomorrow ;D

Although i never saw any of the Rus v Arg singles i really hope that scorelines dont refelct the effort that was put in by the lads - this tie has just raced past us and expect Mancini to go for the kill - Nalby will be waiting for Mitya/Kunitsyn - as in Chile last year - we need another miracle from the boys!
COME ON RUSSIA!!!!!!!!!!

I believe after today's match Dima will face an exhausted David; that's quiet a gambling but it just wouldn't surprise me! In Dc when it comes to Russia; nothing surprises me anymore!

and Mike & Mardy win the doubles for the US!! Woohoot! ;D ;D 46 64 63 46 64 over Verdasco and Birthday Boy FiLo (small hopes ... Andy-Rafa should be fun ) excellent doubles matches today - super fun (and you don't know how hard it was to not cheat and find out the score since TV had it on delay ) epic doubles day overall, even in most of the play-off ties - awesome stuff cute to see Mardy so pumped up and having fun ... funny watching Rafa be such an intense spectator, lol -- and I don't know what it is, but Rafa looks different, I just can't figure it out ... I don't know whether it's cause his hair looks shorter, or he looks skinnier, or whether it's the track suit and cap - or maybe I'm just seeing things - but he looks younger or something ... don't mind me LOL ...

Rafa just beat Andy to take Espana into DC finals!! ;D ;D www.daviscup.com/news/matchreport.asp?articleid=1472221 Sep 2008 - Plaza de Toros Las Ventas, Madrid - ITF - ESP v USA Audio Interview Related Audio Sublime Nadal clinches Spanish victory Spain sealed its slot in the final of Davis Cup by BNP Paribas when Rafael Nadal produced a virtuoso performance to defeat Andy Roddick 64 60 64. Roddick tried all he could but the Spaniard was in irrepressible form and regularly drew gasps of amazement from the packed crowd with the quality of his play. Spain will travel to Argentina or Russia for November’s final. Argentina led that tie 2-1 overnight. CONGRATS TO Spanish team and DAVAI Russian boys!!!!!!! EDIT:Nalby is already one break up, 4-2, against Kolya.
