Ruth do you know anything about this. According to a Russian journalist Marat didn't look very happy when he arrived in Russia for someone that had just one a grand slam and was meant to be in a happy relationship. Marat and Dasha went their seperate ways when they arrived! Do you know what's going on! okay i know i'm not ruth but i can't help but comment.... firstly....he'd been travelling for 30 hours, i don't know how much travelling you've done but after 30hrs travelling you're not likely to be in the mood for talking to the press...add in the fact that he'd just played a tourney, so was tired, its gonna take a lot out of you to play 7 matches in a row, and also, he'd probably had little sleep before he left melbourne due to the fact he was celebrating  trust me its never great to fly when you've been drinking a lot, i know from experience secondly....so marat and dasha left separately...and? your point is? two people can be in a relationship and not go everywhere together...they don't neccessarily live together, and after 30 hours travelling they probably want some rest |

just one questino christina i fairly sure it is not 30 hours from Melbourne/Sydney/Perth (wherever he came from) to Moscow possibly 15-20 hours.
Still it is a long time and it's up to him what he does so i have no complaints.

Ok,Christine I am not Ruth neither but i have another point of view: i use to travel a lot and this has nothing to do with being happy or unhappy....You can look tired BUT HAPPY....and tired AND SAD...this was what the journalist saw in the arcticle Ruth put on the site...A Russian journalist....This comeback is so weird, the pic is horrible, nothing like a feeling going on between them...and then he looks SO SAD!!! oh, come on...i don't know why some people is defending this love that sounds tottally wrong, or failed or something....When i saw Marat for the first time as a fan I made a tiring travel and when i arrived to my aeroport I was happy as hell and i didn't win any GS!!!! and i wasn't with my lovely bf beside me!!!! LOL

okay he's not grinning from ear to ear, so what....maybe he doesn't feel like that, he doesn't have to, maybe he's keeping his emotions within him, that's just the way he is. Frankly, its understandable that he doesn't want to talk to the journalists, russian journalists haven't been that great about him in the past, and as i said, he was probably tired, i'm sorry but 30hours...
....travelling with two transfers, preceded by a long and tiring tennis tournament and celebrations for winning said tennis tournament, is going to tire you out...remember the Hopman Cup this year, Marat was clearly jetlagged...the flight back to Moscow isn't going to be any different.
As for his relationship with Dasha, who are you to say its wrong? Do you know the two of them personally? How do you know that its failing? I'm sorry if i sound rude, but really, Dasha probably does have her own life and isn't going to be glued to Marat's side 24/7. Unless you know either of them I don't see how you can comment on the state of their relationship.

woah people really feel extra strongly about this don;t they?!  just a note on the travel time, i live in australia and yes it is at LEAST 30 hours to moscow  ...not that it is a big deal but it is 30 hours anyway thanks ruth  |

Anyway, Christine, you don't get what i am observing i think...if you want to hide your feelings you don't look SAD!!! if you look so sad as to be noticed by a journalist you are not hiding anything!! or Marat is just a master of showing the opposite of what is he feeling?? I think all the people that know him says on the contrary he is so honest and say what he feels and think....So he was tired (for sure) and he was feeling SAD, so sad that a journalist noticed and told to the readers this remarkable thing that i wrote before: why a recent winner of a GS and a happy-man-in-love looks SO SAD?  this is my question too...and i wouln't add anything more, any other speculation, just a fact noticed by a journalist that made me think a lot...a thing that we could add to the pic and the ceremony speech and everything, just facts..... |

Ok, things are getting a bit out-of-control here, so I'm going to lock the thread if this continues. Nobody knows what Marat & Dasha's relationship is really like. Fans will always have conflicting views, but at the end of the day, that's all they are - just opinions. It's all down to how you view what the media report. Btw. people can look sad when they are tired as well, just like being angry and aggitated. If Marat was aggitated, would you assume that he's probabl;y angry at Dasha as well? Btw. how many times have you heared of him comming out of the plane looking happy? I didn't hear it too often. I think that Marat, like me, does not smile all the time when he passes the passport control. And considering the fact that he arrived in Moscow's trash-can airport with staff being as rude as it gets he might have had a reason to be unhappy. Maybe Marat is like me: he gets tense arriving to Russia... I realy don't think that Marat and Dasha will be in 'flying-in-the-clouds' kind of love at the moment. I don't think that he's thinking about love all the time, just like I doubt that he is thinking of his GS win all the time. He might be thinking of things he has to do when he arrives home though, or about his long flight. |

guys.....flights SUCK....marat's said it himself milliones of times. anyone who doubts that he was just horribly tired please go read the interview maria so kindly translated for us. don't waste her efforts.
when u're jetlagged, grumpy and stinking from having been cooped up in an aluminium can for over a day...i don't think u'd bve happy...u'd just be SAD u can't go to bed sooner... even if u have your girlfriend with you.

Gosh, I promissed myself that I will never ever say anything in this thread, but I just can't sit still when I read some posts... Even if Marat was sad, he could have like 92457086758096752095238750867 reasons to be sad, but why you all (okay maybe not all ) think the reason was that he's unhappy in his relationship?? He could be sad because he lost his wallet, he could be sad because he had to clean his house, he could be sad because he was cold, he could be sad because he had to leave Australia, he could be sad because Bush became a president, he could be sad because the Pope is ill, he could be sad...... do you want me to continue? I can go like this for hours, but I think you guys get my point now... |
