edit: don't know how but I accidently deleted my post, so here it is again So some of you know I went to Wimbledon yesterday. (Mary I was number 7418 in the queue so we just missed each other ) I was thinking of forming a report, but there isn't much to say (as you will see this isn't very long. Had a mellow day, wasn't seeking to find anyone, just wanted to watch some tennis. Headed to court 3 and saw Haas finish his match and then Hewitt starting a bit slow but winning quickly. Then I managed to watch Marat play. My friend and I grabed a seat on court 18 opposite where the players sit in the front row. Had to wait in the scorching sun for Chakvetadze to finish (which lasted FOREVER) and finally she lost. Anyway, Safin was up next so hopefully that was gonna make up for it, but he lost too. He kinda just gave up in the fourth set even though the crowd were totally behind him. I have never cheered so loud! (even got my friend cheering, who isnt a big Safin fan) and got so vocal he kept looking over at us at change of ends and even gave us a smile. But that was before it all went downhill. Had some bad line calls but still, a crappy way to limp out of your final Wimbledon. I did take some pics though. Sorry for the picture quality, I have a crappy camera (and if for some reason you do want to use these pictures anyway, if you could ask permission first that would be great!).... racket smashing (went flying to the net) one of many disputed line calls Those of you who know me on facebook there are some more pics over there. But that is about it....wish the result would have been better but at least I managed to see him before he retired so I am happy.

Spent a day wandering around the Royal Academy and then lunch in Green Park ...trying to get last night's match out my system. Only partially worked. Back to the old queue tomorrow. Think I will head along to see Jesse again ... he's last on court 7, to see how he gets on. There's quite a lot of doubles matches on, so I'll take in a few of them. And no doubt I will be on Murray Mount to see my number three boy in action ...

Greetings from a sunny Wimbles queue; 8389 today ... Hopefully I should be in the grounds by lunchtime. Feel a bit fresher today having had a day's 'tennis rest' yesterday ... my eyes are no longer looking like a bloodhound's! Quite a few good doubles matches to look forward to ... but not the Big Yin's. Think he scratched it on Tuesday. Sigh.

Apparently there have been comments about the court surface of centre court ... Possibly more 'lush' under the new roof ie slippier underfoot. Oh dear. At least it keeps the sun off the Royal Box. Expensive parasol though!
Will be on Murray Mount at some point today to see how he gets on. This could be a tough one if Gulbis is focused and up for it. Should be a good match though. Possibly a grudge match as well after Gulbis' comments about their Queen's match last year accusing Andy of gamesmanship.

The fairy has landed, and what a bump! I got a centre court ticket, row F, west open stand, seat 56 ... Posh seat, as Aunty Denise calls it. My Big Pixie must have sent over his fairy dust to me to land this one. I take back my rant at you BP ... well ... some of it ...
Wish me luck guys, and look out for me!

Back to my haunt at the back of the practice courts. Just watched the Hewitt match - he won in straight sets. Will go back for the start of Andy's match. Great seat, behind the umpire's chair and on the left when facing the court. Long time since I had a seat this good!

Sitting adjacent to court 7 enjoying a glass of Merlot. Had to fend off a casanova at the bar ... LMAO. Long time since that happened to me. Jesse is on court 7 ... I may amble along when I have finished with my cheeky little red.
I'll try not to shout abuse at him.

Ooops. Meant to say, 'well done, Andy'. Straight sets - 2 5 and 3.
Just had an excited text from my dad. They saw me on telly. Hope it didn't add 10 pounds in weight ... I'm carrying enough excess poundage as it is this year.
Big Yin, maybe as well you're back in Moscow. Did you know the sandwiches cost more than 4 quid this year? You'd probably have had to get to the semis again to pay for the pasta.

Jessie is a man possessed. He's just won in the 5th set 6-3. Time for me to leave now ...

Anybody know where I can get a video of the Levine match (for posterity)? I susbscribed to the Wimbledon live site again this year ... and it doesn't look like there's an archive. The site has always had one in the past with matches going back a few years.

PS Spent today in Winchester ... Wimbles ain't the same without my Big Pixie. And the odds of me getting another show-court ticket ...
PPS Think it's scandalous that the wean (Dinara) is on court 2 again.

Just my 2 cents from the match which i saw - i thought he was pathetic and didnt deserve to win - he just wasnt there - smashing rackets and disputing line calls - a normal day in the life of Marat I did catch up with him the day before the match and i thanked him for the memories and wished him the best after tennis and he seemed happy to hear that and i just wish it would all end now! I also talked with the Chair Umpire Pascal Maria after he lost and he said it was a real shame, i dont understand him, why he turns up and plays like that when we all know what he can do. I asked him about the racket abuse and Moaning and he just said oh its a usual safin match and said that mostly experienced Referees are allowed to officiate for Marat as he is can be a hard man to reason with!

Woot woot! Way to go Andy! Phew ... Stan the Man almost pulled that one off. Only got back from London tonight ... 10 minutes before the match started. How's that for timing? ;D Cannot for the life of me understand Andy's game plan - whacking that ball to Stan's backhand all the time in that first set ... one of the best backhands, if not the best, in the men's game ... And well done to the wean for fighting back in the third. Good to see a Safin go for it. FG PS Strange, but wonderful to be watching live tennis at Wimbles so late at night. Now they'll need to think about how they get the fans off the hill in the dark ... LMAO. Some more floodlighting in the gorunds will be needed guys. PPS And another thing, they shut the gates at 8am on Saturday! The queue is getting ridiculous. For a ground pass by and large!?! Anybody interested in starting a viral thread of 'stop the queues at Wimbles, AELTC, put more of the tickets for sale on the day'? Miffed.

QFs set to go ... WOMEN Safina v Lisicki V. Williams v Radwanska Schiavone v Dementieva Azarenka v S. Williams MEN Hewitt v Roddick Murray v Ferrero Haas v Djokovic Karlovic v Federer Haas, Hewitt, Ferrero - did we turn back time? Love it. And who knew a sprinkle of rain leading to a roof closing could be so weirdly exciting? LOL Although, if there was no roof, it probably would have rained the whole week.
