be relieved fairy godmother! they were actually maybe at most 10 of them at the net! the rest was all around, especially shots in the net from the baseline(don't need to say how frustrating it was!) thanx for the piccies people! So, if he hadn't gone in to the net, he could've lost/gone in to a third set in theory? LMAO. See Big Yin, mix it up. The net play has its advantages. You played well at the net, you being a confirmed baseliner ... ;D Build up the confidence. Don't think about it. Whack that ball down and don't play a light touch when your opponent is standing about 3 foot away from where you drop the ball. Whack it away from them (inside the line obviously). And bend your knees more - you squat too high. PS Well done on the doubles. For the singles tomorrow, don't start arsing about ie the arm-waving routine. That really noises me up. Focus. Set up the angles to give you the domination at the net ... and don't stand their like a statue when you're at the net. Keep moving. It intimidates the opponent into playing a shot quicker than they would like. (You loom over the net ... being a Big Yin) And if you have to reach a ball again, you're already moving ... And start taking the ball a bit earlier as well. Signed Fairy Godmother PS You know all of this already - I wouldn't presume otherwise. Just do it! Another PS Are the girls still breathing? And another PS Good to see you in the doubles. It'll sharpen up the touch play. Enter some more doubles - it's better than faffing around on a practice court.

Sharapova crashes out of Moscow
MOSCOW, October 10: Russia's Maria Sharapova, second seed in the $2.34-million joint ATP and WTA Moscow event, crashed out of the tournament after her first match at the hands of Belarus teenager Victoria Azarenka on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old Azarenka beat Sharapova in straight sets 7-6 (11/9), 6-2 in one hour 49 minutes in their first ever meeting.
"I tried to stay focused and believed I could win the match," Azarenka said. "I do not think Masha (Sharapova) played her best tennis today but the match was a high-level one and I'm really happy to win it."
Sharapova, who enjoyed a first round bye, started confidently and was leading the score 5-3 and was serving for the first set.
However, she suddenly lost her nerve allowing the unheralded Belarus teenager to survive three set points and pull the scores level, forcing a tiebreak, which she won after surviving three more set points.
In the second set, Sharapova, who was wearing a plaster on her injured right shoulder, looked only a pale shadow of her normal self allowing Azarenka, who is 32nd in the world, to break twice to win the set and the match.
"Maybe I was too opinionated when I was leading the score 5-3," Sharapova said. "That was the point where it all started. Had I won the first set everything could have been much better for me."
