i dont know if any of u know yet but according to french eurosport davydenko is not going to play the tie against chile!! here is his starement (translated by me ): "Dont ask me questions about DC i wont go! said the would no 3 seemingly not too keen on having to play on clay at this moment of the year. " I think that Marat (Safin) alone can make us win, he will have time to prepare for the clay. We have a good chance to beat Chile in the first round." Davydenko added. i think that this is far from being an easy draw and even though i really hope that marat will be ready and in good shape (and beat that Gonzalez) without kolya it will be a much tougher job!

Well, Marat can't do it all by himself....first of all,he can play in doubles match without a patner??!! LOL But seriously now, I think it won't be too easy for Marat, especially because I think he's gonna have problems with the chilean supporters. (i'm NOT saying that they are bad supporters). They're gonna make so much noise, I don't think Marat will feel comfortable with that.

No Kolya - that is a kick in the nuts to the russians as he is our best player on clay!
Interesting aswell that Tursunov has withdrawn from Vina Del Mar with a wrist injury and is fairly doubtful for DC! Zhenya Korolev has also pulled out of Vina Del Mar - unsure why??? Igor Andreev is playing Vina Del Mar next week but is just coming back from injury and no miracles will be expected from him. Mikhail Youzhny is playing on indoor hardcourt next week in Zagreb - so his preparation will not be great!
Wheras Marat looks like to be our only definite player on the team leaving for chile on his birthday - what commitment! This tie has just got a whole lot harder!
Oh Yeah all the Chileans are fine!

Wait it gets worse... Tarpischev announced that Korolev won't play due to injury... I don't think there's actually any point in going now
