I really want to see Marat do well here. I'm pretty mad that he has done really dreadful in all tournaments beside AO, but if he does really well at RO(semi and beyond, at least), I guess it's okay for me.

Re: Hamburg 2005 « Reply #155 on: May 13th, 2005, 9:46pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hamburg: Coria's loss to Federer fixes Top 8 Roland Garros Seeds (Exclusive)
Coria started strong in both sets of his quarterfinal against Federer; the #1 seed made some errors to start the match, and that gave Coria an early break -- only to take it back. The second was affected a bit by some goofiness in the stands, allowing Coria to go up a break to 4-3, then 5-4 and serving for the set. And Federer broke back, and they ended up in a tiebreak -- where Federer went down a minibreak, and then won six of the last seven points. 6-4 7-6.
And that meant that the top eight men's seeds are set for Roland Garros. Federer will be #1, of course. Lleyton Hewitt is #2 if he can play, followed by Andy Roddick, Marat Safin, Rafael Nadal, defending champion Gaston Gaudio, Andre Agassi, Tim Henman, and last year's finalist Coria, who will be stuck at #9 unless someone withdraws

Re: Hamburg 2005 « Reply #159 on: Today at 01:58am »
Jamie-
Jamie I am not sure if it will improve Marat's draw as much as his seeding, he would become the # 3 seed I think. There are so many dangerous clay courters lurking out there below the top 10 that whateve draw Marat gets its bound to be tough
nicki or Ruth would prob be able to answer this question correctly.

You answered it as well as it can be answered Marat's seeding only really comes into play if both him & Roger make it to the semis/finals, if Marat is seeded 3rd he couldn't play Roger until the final, if he is seeded 4th he would play Roger in the semis Since the draw hasn't been made yet we have no idea wether he would be better off being a 3 or 4 seed. Either way he could draw Ferrero, Gasquet, Chela, Ferrer, Santoro (lol oh please god no, not santoro) or any other of the countless clayballers

And no Ferrero please. Actually, I think he will win if they meet again, but you never know.

Thanks lau the pic. Marat looks so happy. I love that. ;D
My fav. Grand Slam is coming. The only tourney that ESPN and Star don't broadcast. That's terrific, coz Thailand local cable TV have it. and they manage to send picture to us better than the famous TV station. Yehooo!! ;D
