Hey all,
Sorry I don't come here very often, but I just wanted to let you know that I saw Marat practice again today, but not for very long because I had to work also.... He seems to be ok, he just tried to break his racket once!! But he seems to have problems with his rackets, he keeps checking them (maybe not very confident after what happened during one of his matchs!) About his bracelet I don't really know what it is, I need to check that next time I see him (he is not planned to practice again today...)
Ok I have to go back to work now, I'll send more pictures to Ruth tonight!!

The 'ceremony' begins at 11:30 in Paris, I don't expect it to be ready before 12:30 - 1pm (it's pretty long and there is like a speech from the President before to the press....) I'll try to keep you inform. I'll be at the draw ceremony, so maybe I can sms someone to give Marat's opponent's 'live' (I'm not sure Ruth will be online at that time...). Let me know how I can help!

Hey Vee - Do you know if I buy tickets to the qualifiers if I will then have access to "wander" to the practice courts to watch a certain curly haired player practice or is it closed off? He is even scheduled to practice tomorrow (Friday)? Enjoy your days there and thanks for the reports. K

Hey Kirstin,
I'm sorry if you only have qualies tickets you cannot acces to the other parts of the stadium when the main draw players practice, you might just seem them walking to the players' lounge but not more.. I would advise you to come on Sunday for Benny Berthet, then all the courts are open to the public, right now the access is limited to people with the right pass. I might get a new pass tomorrow (a better one for me), which would enable me to get people to go in the other area, I'll let you know if I have it and maybe I can take you to Marat's court, but I will only know his practice schedule tomorrow morning.. Feel free to contact me!

Hi Vee, Thank you for responding so quickly to my post. I don't have tickets for the qualifiers, I was just thinking of maybe heading there tomorrow and buying them on the spot if it would allow me access to the practice courts. I've seen posters around town for the Sunday event. Maybe I will plan on doing that. My only commitment for the next two weeks is studying and well...it isn't hard to procrastinate/find excuses not to study My cell is 06-21-13-04-52 if you end up being able to bring others with you or simply want company. Even if you can't, I appreciate the thought. It is very kind of you. Like I said....ENJOY!!! Kristin

Chances are that I am not going to go tomorrow and will instead spend my day staring at this lovely computer screen writing my paper for next week so that maybe next week I can instead stare at that lovely player. Feel free to SMS me the draw and I'll post as soon as I hear from you Vee.

By the way everyone, I saw Marat win at Bercy in November. I was having major computer problems back then, not to mention a fight with France telecom regarding their sudden decision to no long supply us with service. Why? Just because...
Anyway, I had wanted to post a report and pictures way back then, but alas, a report never materialized (sorry), and with Getty nowadays fan pictures online aren't that spectacular...though I do love to flip through the prints in my hands (can't do that with Getty).
If I find a way to make it to a RG match, I'll give you all a report. Free has replaced France Telecom in my life, so all should be fine on that end and my new Mac is spectacular!
