The American Andre Agassi, who arrived in Paris on Sunday, trained with the Argentine David Nalbandian. Among the other stars, world number 1 Roger Federer tried to get a feel for the Philippe-Chatrier court, accompanied by his coach Tony Roche. News in brief (III) By Benjamin Waldbaum Wednesday, May 18, 2005 Andy Roddick and many others training, Amelie Mauresmo at a secret hideaway, Steffi Graf... on court, the Anastasia Myskina saga, Benny-Berthet Day: all the latest news from Roland-Garros stadium.
Mauresmo breaks cover This week, Amelie Mauresmo plans to emerge from her retreat just once. A winner on Sunday in Rome for the second consecutive year, the French no. 1 is currently training at a secret location with her coach Loïc Courteau and Yannick Noah, winner of the French Open in 1983. This Thursday 19th May, the world number 3 will give a press conference presenting the deal reached with a new textile equipment manufacturer.
The champions' waltz While, on one side of the stadium, the qualifiers are in full swing, on the other, the stars are honing their game. World number 1, Roger Federer, has been fine-tuning his serve-volley combination on the Philippe-Chatrier court, where the newly arrived Andy Roddick and Tim Henman have also been training. David Nalbandian, Marat Safin and Andre Agassi have been hard at work too, as has Agassi's other half, Steffi Graf. The German champion with 22 Grand Slam titles to her name (including six in Paris) was spotted knocking up with Darren Cahill, her husband's coach.
The holder will be here Having been doubtful due to a recurrent shoulder pain that kept her out of the Rome tournament, Anastasia Myskina, according to her Russian coach, Jens Gerlach, should be at Roland-Garros to defend her title.

what makes you think that? Marat has gotten to the semis of RG, he wants to win this tourney, he doesn't even want to show up at Wimby he has got to the quarters of wimbledon also don't forget.the reason marat doesn't want to "show up " at wimbledon is probably because he doesn't feel like he has a chance of winning, i disagree with that .grass courts there aren't like before, they are slower and bounce up more, playing more like a hard court which i think is perfectly suited for marats style.his serve is also huge, that helps. at RG, i think there are too many good clay-court players, thats why i think it will be much more difficult for him.he just needs to have the belief that he can win at wimbledon, once he has that, i think can be rated as one of the faveourites for the tournament.

Not comfortable that he lost the tie-break......but its only practise, as long as he wins his tie breaks when he is actually playing Ruth can you pass on my thanks and I am sure that of the other members too He looks great........he really does, I know I am bias, but I think he looks focused, and looks well. Is he wearing some sort of bracelet on his left hand? Maybe its just my eyes. Ruth when you speak to Vee could you ask her?

Whilst I think Marat could do well at Wimbledon, I dont think he will, but would not mind been surprised Its also a bit of a mind set with Marat I think, like IW and Miami, and the first quarter of the year He so wants to do well at, and win RG, this motivation plus his ability to play on clay does make him a serious contender, lets be honest he has a very decent clay court record, this year may have been a bit of a disaster, but overall Marat likes clay and can do well on clay. And I so hope he does, because its what he really wants.
