Well, the commentators told last year already that he was pretty angry at the Russian Tennis Fed. because he didn't get any help from them when he needed it and as he was applying for the US citizenship he didn't accept Shamil T.'s offer to join the Russian Davis Cup team. Now for some reason his getting the US citizenship has been lingering, haven't heard of the reasons though. bet they rejected his application or sth...

Tursanov got rejected and e should be thankful of that because i doubt he would get in the US davis cup team and i think that would ruin his carrer and so we can further build upon becoming 1 of the strongest nations in Tennis with our Inspirational captain Mr. Safin

How is being an american going to ruin his career?? The man obviously wanted to become a citizen. And he is the number 5 man on a 4 man team with the Russians so he isn't going to be playing anyway so I don't know how that is going to help him Inspirational captain?!?

So who would you say Tursanov is better than in the American team when you have to pick to singles and a specialist doubles pair with 1 player as back up.
So would you say Tursanov or Roddick. Hmmmmmmmmmmm Roddick.
Spadea or tursanov Spadea.
Also america have a specialist doubles pair meanwhile Tursanov has heardly any experience.
Also may i say that the USA have many players ranked above Tursanov for example Mardy Fish, Taylor Dent Robby Ginepri, James Blake which would make Tursanov a little down the list .
As for Russia he is Ranked straight number 5 so he would have more of a chance playing with Russia than USA.
P.S I dont know you but i think Sirius is right relax and go make some cookies.lol.Thanks.

I think that he'll be better off staying with the Russian team, for he is ranked higher with them...but he can still get a US citizenship if he wants to.

Anyways.. maybe he's old and wise enough to think about consequences of getting American citizenship. It might be the case that he rather doesnt play for Russia, bcuz he doesnt feel like it's the country he should be playing for. See, he's been living in America since he was a kid.. 12,5 years old.. America is the place that gave him the opportunities.. that made him the player he is right now.. So it's not weird if that country feels like home for him.. and it's not good for him, in any way, that he's rejected from what he definetly wants! Staying a Russian while he doesnt feel like one, just for having this very small chance to play a davis cup match for that country would be any good... Dont worry..I'm really relaxed and the cookies were great.. but I still have my opinion on this one
