Watched the match live (God bless you Russian tennis channel ;D) and I must say it wasn't anything extremely spectacular. He really should listen to mary and go to the net a bit more, because every time he does, he produces great volleys and shots. Fognini was nowhere to be seen for the first two sets and in the third set it was more Marat playing with himself and getting the usual brain cramps than anything else. It should have been a pretty 6-1 6-2 6-3 but he decided it would be too boring I suppose LOL. However all is well that ends well, still a little bit too many UEs for my liking I am sure he will put up a better performance against Novak since he always does against top players Good luck Marat

LMAO, that'll be a first then. Yes, he did start losing it a bit in the third as he was so relaxed, but no harm done - at least he won the tiebreak. It was a pretty clinical display to watch as he was hitting the ball so well. I did get to see at least one really lovely volley right next to me - made the panda smile! He'll play better against Novak as he knows he has to - and I bet he will make more net approaches. I'm in the queue. It's at least 8 rows deep already.6991 - I've never been that far back in the Church Rd queue in my life. The wee legs are obviously slowing up. Yesterday didn't help! PS It's Aunty Denise's birthday tomorrow. How about treating her to a day in Wimbles - ticket thrown in. What a birthday treat that would be seeing you flatten Novak! She can also help me with the suncream!

I have so much faith in him that he can do it!! Don't forget to apply sunscreen every a couple of hours so you won't ruin your beautiful complexion!!! PS Happy birthday to your Aunt and make sure you buy her a nice chocolate mudcake and bubbly that will help you celebrate Marat's win.

Aunty Denise is in Birmingham - but I know she'll be watching the Big Yin and cheering him on! Was hoping Amit might treat her to a birthday surprise. LMAO.
I'm in hiding from the sun just now round at the practice courts. Dinara is out, so I've got the first vid. Will head out later to see her match. Think I'll have my lunch here as well. It's a bit cooler today. Thankfully. Scots and sunshine don't mix.

I'm watching Haas vs Cañas while I wait for the match of my countryman Frederico Gil to start. He is playing the same guy he played (and lost to) in the 1st Rd of RG this year, Jeremy Chardy. What are the odds of you drawing the same guy on 2 consecutive slams?!?!

Well, that was an interesting hour. The boy has mastered grass. Was quite a sight to behold as he blasted David Ferrer off the practice courts. I was so engrossed, it was about 20 minutes before I realised that Maestro was right in front of me! He was wearing his 'gangsta rap' outfit. LMAO. Loads of footage for you guys. You will be so pleased when you see them. Unfortunately I'd put the camera away when the Big Yin took his shirt off. Sorry! Better get to court 16 now to take some pics for Lena.

Have discovered a great hideaway from the sun - and the crowds! Behind court 11 there's a 'court buffet' area. Picnic tables and relatively crowd-free. Think I'll hide here for a bit then go on court 11 to support wee sis.
