Day 6: Marats match vs. Bastl
I was so very happy today that marats match would be at night cause i had to miss half the day because of dumb school stuff! i got to the tournament site at around 3 and found out that marat already practiced today. and i missed a great practice session too! it was like heaven as my ballkid friends told me.. ahah. There was James blake, Marat, and dmitry and another person all on the same court. Too bad i missed it! i bet that the whole tennis court was steaming with hotness.

When i got there i found out that i was actually scheduled to ballkid that day so i had to go onto the grandstand court and do the doubles match between Coetzee/Moodie vs. Fleishman/Thatcher (Thatchers a really good junior in the US). oh! and i was very surprised to find that Fleishman took out Fernando! i wish i stayed longer for that match! Fleishman is always in qualifying, for the past 6 years or so all the ballkids remember him always doing the All-American Shoot out and always doing Qualifying he always gets into the Maindraw but loses in the 1st round. NOW when he palys the number 1 seed he passes proud of him though! so at around 5 Marat showed up only with his Coach. Marat was wearing the same clothes from yeseterday except with flipflops. i took a picture with him and then he went to practice on the main stadium.

Unfortunatly i didnt get to ballkid for Marats match! instead i got scheduled to do the Bryan brothers match that was before Marats match. just my luck! but oh well i had fun screaming and cheering for him in the stands. The first set Marat played amazing! he served very well and made Bastl work hard. there were a lot of good points and i thought that the match was going to be over inless then an hour! the first set took like only 27 minutes. Second set was totally different! Bastl was playing incredible, in the first set Marat was hitting all the lines and now it was switched! Marat missed a few easy vollies and his first serve was getting in less but that was about it, Bastl was playing really well. 3rd set i was veryyy scared the first 2 games took foreverrrrr! so many deuces i was so nervous for marat! after the game score was 3-2 i had to leave i was so scared that marat would lose! in the car i was totally impatient wishing that my house could be closer agh! but yey! marat won so im hoping that on Friday ill be able to do his match vs. lee!

OH yeah and today i saw dmitry practice again shirtless haha even though i already had 6 pictures with him from tournaments before i couldnt resist adding a shirtless picture with him into my collection

Day 7: Marat's day off
Came to the tournament site this morning and found out i was on the main stadium! so i was very excited to do the Dmitry/Ugly spadea match. to me its like.. good (dmitry) vs. EVIL (Spadea). walked around for a bit and saw that Marat was going to come sign autographs for the fans at 4:15. Ballkidded the first set for Dmitry's match and Unfortunately i had to stand in front of Spadea! GEEZE! just my luck! i was glaring at my friend across the net who got dmitry! so jealous! that set was like over an hour and i was just about to pass out from the heat. the two ballkids in the middle have to kneel down and even with the towels underneath our knees, i was burning up. my fingertips were even burning from the heat! When we were running of the court Dmitry tossed his really soaking wet wristband in a ballboys direction so the ballboy kept it, he didnt want it so i was like.."what the heck! ill just keep it" it was REALLY soaking wet so i put it in a cup and stuffed it in my bag. Actually i just took it out and its still soaking wet after more then 6 hours!

so after that match i ventured off to the practice courts. it just so happened that just as i was walking there i saw Marat. so i said hello and just left him alone (hahah for once). he practiced for i think less then an hour with Gumy and then off he went for the autograph session. when he left the practice courts he was swarmed with people (today's was kids day so there was a really large amount of kids at the tournament) Marat couldn't even move! so i just kinda.. stood in the corner and took my video of Marat getting swarmed.. and then left to get food but that was a bad decision! cause i forgot about Marats autograph session! and i really wanted a free countrywide hat. but i was too lazy to eat standing up so i just said forget about it ill just take pictures. Marat came out for about 15 minutes for the autographs and the line was really long. He was kind enough to let people take pictures with him and also there was this horribly bi***y lady that was in charge. She was so mean to everyone! and made the whole experience annoying. but Marat was nice and let them stay and take pics he even let some others who werent inline cut. that bad lady was trying to kick them out but Marat was protecting them hhaah yeah. He stayed for about 15 minutes and then left. After i was watching James Blake Practice and i saw Hernan Gumy come out and so since he was just standing there i decided to ask for a picture. but when i asked he said all quickly with an accent "oh no! i'm not a player" and i said "i know" haah he must have thought i was weird. and then Marat came out from the back way but i didnt know there was a back way but just said bye and he left.

Tomorrow i'm working both night and day and hopefully for the day i get put on stadium court! if i get put on grandstand i will be SOOOO mad because i hate doing legends doubles. Legends doubles is with all the old people and its really boring cause no one watches and it doesnt even matter! and all of the sets always seem to go to tiebreakers! so crossing my fingers for stadium tomorrow!
