I would be no good doing security if I told all I know about various musicians. I can say I definitely stay well clear of the groupie scene (it took a while to convince the boiys we just DON'T do Groupie and if they don't respect us they are on their own!) and we knew Britney wasn't a virgin even while the record company had her promoting virginity. That's all now public knowledge and I don't work for either of her or Justin T. LOL!

Ofcourse you can't tell. Makes it kind of fun, wondering who those people are. Knowing who they are, might spoil the fun, especially if I don't like them  But that is a great job though. Wow, inside info about Britney's virginity ;D |

LOL girls. Actually, there are days when things go wrong and you turn on the computer and wish you had not. Several times I have been going to quit and the small security team I'm part of have held me there, they are such GOOD friends. Mosly it's pretty good. While I'm not a fan of the big star of this group, I like and respect quite a few members of his band now we are definitely sorted on those boundaries. I also made 2 of the best friends money can't buy.
As for concert tix - we don't get them, we buy them the same as anyone else, maybe we just get the option of the best seats from the promoters. I decided after last time if I go to another concert I'm either with the security chief or I'm up the back. I HATE front row! LOL!
The only advantages we get are we are allowed to take cameras into the venues, we wear ID and are known to security so if we're chatting to the team then venue security just have to put up with it, and we go for a drink each time with our friends. Last time the Boss turned up he was a bit stunned at just how casual the Aussies really are... We said 'hi' and resumed our dinner with a couple of musicians. I think he expected us to be all over him, and we were 'Reality check, mate - it's 12.30 am and we're hungry!' LOL!

Last time the Boss turned up he was a bit stunned at just how casual the Aussies really are... We said 'hi' and resumed our dinner with a couple of musicians. I think he expected us to be all over him, and we were 'Reality check, mate - it's 12.30 am and we're hungry!' LOL! lol...talk about ego trips...u must have bruised his quite a bit! |

LOL! Not as badly as I bruised the local football star's. *grin* He also expected me to swoon in his illustrious prescence. He wasn't quite sure what to do when I treated him as an equal, not a demi-God. Fortunately I did remember which code he played and for which team, so he was lucky there. *grin* Normally football bores me stupid. Obviously, I do watch tennis!

LOL! Girls, I was trained to deal with all types of people well before I started doing fan club stuff for my friend and ended up doing security with a 'how in hell did I get here?' look on my face every now and again. Famous people usually don't worry me and I'm trained to keep it cool, calm and professional. The only time I ever came close to a weak kneed moment was at work when Mel Gibson's farm manager walked in with his Boss for an appointment to look over some aerial and satellite photos, maps and plans, and I can mention that one as it's not confidential! I found Mel really nice, one of the few famous people I have met and genuinely liked. Maybe in Marat's Rap Rock career I should be his image consultant! I would certainly keep him 'grounded'. I'm still not sure what an image consultant DOES but I can have a go at that one. ;D |
