Hey Safinno1, I went to NYC last christmas and had an absolutely fab time!! I would reccomend that you go to a dessert/dinner place called SERENDIPITY 3 RESTAURANT (which is on 225 East 60th St). They have a dessert which is called the "Frrrozen Hot Chocolate" which is a must for any chocolate fan!! BUT i suggest that you call them before you go and reserve a table because waiting times are 2-3 hours.
Another cool place is DYLANS CANDY BAR, which is basically a whole store dedicated to sweets and candy (two floors!!) .
Hope that you have an amazing time!!

I know it's more of a girl-thing but GO SHOPPING! NYC has eliminated the sales tax on every clothing item under 110 $ a few months ago. In combination with the good exchange rate you get real bargains now.
I guess you don't need tips for night clubs and bars since you are under 21?!
If you wanna do culture, don't miss the MOMA and the Frick Collection.
I go to NYC every few years because I love the atmosphere and I spend my time there just walking through all the neighbourhoods since they all have a different vibe. But if you've never been there you'll probably need your 5 days for all the major sights: Empire State Building, Ground Zero, Statue of Liberty (they still don't let you climb up to the torch), Times Square, UN, Central Park, 5th Avenue...
Enjoy your stay!!!!!!!!

btw, davis,do you have some pics? I have pics from my recent trip, not of the well-known sites, though (I took those in the "good old days" where everybody used regular films and no digital cameras so I can't post them). Anyway, NYC in 2006: Buildings in SoHo The Upper West Side Housing project at the Upper East Side Business District near the UN Washington Square Central Park - even jogging is regulated Empire State Building and Times Square at night Ground Zero - the rest of the foundation of the WTC ...and for the "Friends"-fans (couldn't see Monica's apartment, though)

Good morning sweethearts!!!!!!!!!!!! As promised, here is a little report on the Mauritius trip The holiday was fantastic!!! ;D It was everything we hoped it would be: relaxation, plenty of sleep, rest, ocean, sun (well that was one thing we didn't get plenty of since it's winter there and occasional showers occur rather frequently and sun seems to go places for days but anyway...), tons of naughty things with hubby ;D, food and travelling We arrived on Saturday, July 1, had the car booked already at the airport (a cute small RED!!!! Renault Clio ) and headed off for the hotel. Halfway through our journey a tropical shower decided to grace us with its presence and it was so bad the wipers were totally useless . But it went away as quickly as it had arrived and it was just us, the road and the clouds We found the hotel without much trouble and that was the first shock of the trip. We were greeted at the main entrance with refreshments, flowers and about 2.8 million smiles, all our papers were filled in by a hotel worker whilst others very efficiently transfered all the bags to the room, where we were shortly taken to. I had loved the hotel on the photos the second I saw it, we had a few heated arguements with hubby (good arguments not fighting ones LOL ) before we picked the hotel but I insisted on this one and the moment we set out foot there we knew we did the right thing. It's a perfect place for relaxation. You get three types of rooms there, we lived in a Pavillion, which is like a long bungalow consisting of four guestrooms, each has a large living area with a sofa and armchairs and a coffee table and then you have a king size bed, an outside terrace for yourselves with sunbeds and a table and chairs, you have a wardrobe room for all your clothes and shoes and luggages and then sexiest part was bathroom, where you have a huge bath and a huge shower next to it, one of the walls there is made of glass and a shower has two doors: one to get in there from the bathroom and the other one through the glass wall to go out into a small garden with pretty trees and flowers....and if you lie in a bath you look into the garden through a glass too..sooooo cool!!!!! Basically you can have a shower with your door to the garden open...it was the most original bathroom I have ever seen and I don't think I need to tell you the amount of fun hubby and I had in there The whole hotel is done in such a way that you always have privacy whenever you want it. All room terraces are separated by flowers and bushes so I never even heard my neighbours, there are three little beaches and two swimming pools at the hotel, so considering it's low season now people used to scatter all over the place and most of the time you had a feeling like there was noone at the hotel. We used to all meet only at the restaurant when having breakfast and if you dont feel like seeing anyone even there, you can also order food in and eat outside on your terrace. The climate is so great there that all the facilities like reception, restaurant, bar are outdoor. You have breakfast munching away on your passion fruit and pancakes staring at the ocean, you sit in a bar at night listening to live jazz with a sea breeze on your face watching the moon and the stars. The hotel is also famous for it's spa and if the weather is good, they do massages for you in their little garden outside. I went for some massages and treatments and it was heavenly!!! Really nice It's one of the best hotels on the island and the prices are obviously correspondent. We would have never gone if it wasn't a low season and they didn't give us a 50% discount. They also have villas there you can stay in that have your own garden and pool inside but they are totally unaffordable. The staff is really friendly and helpful and they were extremely sweet. On our wedding anniversary we got flowers from them, a Happy Wedding AnniVERY (he he he) cake and while we were having candlelight dinner on the beach, they filled up a foam bath for us with rose petals and candles all over and whomever we met from the staff that day was saying congratulations..that's really nice The island itself is really funny, I can see why some people told me they were kinda disappointed by it. It's an absolutely deadly mixture of India and Africa. The country itself is developing fast but there is still a lot of poverty, dirty streets and huge screaming markets on the centre of the capital every morning. That made me sooooo nostalgic, really reminded me of childhood years in India. Main attractions are all nature related, you obviously don't get too many museums or art galleries there but you have a very pretty Botanical Garden, a cute safari park, a few wonderful waterfalls, some nature resorts with animals and plenty of birds and you can just drive along endless white sand beaches and stare into the turquiose ocean along the way and your head is just totally clear of any thoughts .... it's such a great feeling. Two weeks flew like a moment, we were very unlucky with the weather because the last 5 days were totally sunless and we planned everything in such a manner so that the last 3 days will be dedicated to beach and sunbathing. Therefore I ended up not as tanned as I would love to be but still quite refreshed So on the whole it was wonderful and we truly rested. So if you ever need a romantic getaway, a honeymoon or just a place to forget everything together with someone you love - Mauritus is definitely the place to be!!!!!! Pictures will follow shortly, I promise, I just need to upload them at home
