Lau ....! omg I was actually going to post almost the same thing I watch "Les Poupées russes" ("The Russian dolls"), there was nothing else at the blockbuster and they ran out of the Illusionist, so they gave me a rain check. I saw russian dolls and I said ok, well its free so who cares right?. I loved it. I was thinking on renting the first part cause I though it would be good, I have never heard from any of them. The french girl is so cute, I think shes the same of the Da vinci code? But I liked the lesbian on the dress I though it was hilarious. So I'm not going to rent the first one, thanks for the tip....

LOL I´m glad my comment was useful ;D You can rent it if you want to...., I wouldn´t, but that´s just my opinion LOL EDIT: Yes, the French girl is Audrey Tautou, the actress from "The Da Vinci code" and "Amelie" too (the movie that made her well-known worldwide and another Jeunet movie ).

I saw the Illusionist...it was for free ha ha ha! well I liked it a lot, the cop guy was really good I think hes a great actor. Ed norton of course genius as always although I think he had better pictures like "the score". Thank you lau for the review. I did see amelie, that was some crazy movie, cute though.

Speaking of leo.... I've just seen his latest movie called Blood Diamond. Like Leo or no, this is one of the most powerful movies I have seen in a very long time. Directed by Edward Zwick (responsible for movies like Legends of the Fall, Glory and the Last Samurai.) its about diamond trafficking. Its been a long time since I cried at a movie but the waterworks were on and off during the whole thing and I wasn't the only one. It's not a movie for the faint of heart. It's gritty and dirty and the horror of certain scenes can only be depassed by the actual reality that it reflects. It's a movie that makes you think, that pushes you to question what you think you know, and open your mind to situations that it can be all too easy to ignore. It's a movie that leaves you feeling drained as well as helpless and inspired in equal measures. The acting and directing are fantastic. The film is very well constructed and Leo DiCaprio's south african accent is not bad at all...having said that I'm not from South Africa so I'm not sure how on the mark it is (or isn't as the case maybe) I understand it got mixed reviews here in the States but I would definitely recommend it. I'd be curious to know what other people who've seen it think. i've just seen it! and OMG!!!! it really is a great movie! it makes you think about all this buls*&t that's around us! Amazing! i strongly recommend it! thanks B! i've seen your comment and thought about watching it i totally agree with everything that u said

Blood Diamonds came out here in Holland last week, and couldn't get tickets till last sunday, finally ;D , in the night session! It was truelly an amazing film, and it's really true what Gina said: 'it's made you think about all the bulls&*t around' It's deffinitely not a movie like "let's go and see some movie" , you really have to think about it, and the thinking went through a lot longer after the movie too, everyone was soooooo impressed by it in the cinema..... when the film finished, everyone in there was very quiet, and it took about 15-20 minutes to let everyone leave the cinema, talking all with eachother about the film we just saw! Amazing..... Strongly recommend it to everybody!

Glad that Blood Diamond had such an effect on people. I do believe it even earned Leo an Oscar nod (although if the award shows to now are any indication Forrest Whitakker will win for the Last King Of Scotland which i have not seen) Anyways...two new movies to review for you. Or two movies I've just seen anyway. First up Blood and Chocolate. If you saw Underworld and liked it then you will like tihs too. It's the same team of producers and a simliar story except instead of vampires we have loup garoux aka warewolves. Basically...girl is promised to man (and oh what a man...Olivier Martinez...was God ever in a good mood that day ) but for some inexplicable reason girl is determined to run from said man.... Girl meets and falls in love with boy. One problem: Boy is human and really who wants to date a guy that your family considers dead meat? Literally. Did I mention that girl is one of these warewolves. Anyway you can pretty much figure how it goes from there. Not the most original story line but for what it is it's good enough. And there are some very pretty shots in it as well from a cinematographic view point. Moving on to...Her Majesty, the Queen. Helen Mirren is absolutely brilliant as Queen Elizabeth the Second. Basically this is a film all about how the Royal Family, the Queen in particular handled the death of Princess Diana. The story line is quite straighforward and focuses on the dilemna for Elizabeth of trying to be traditional and stick with what she knows in the face of a situation that was clearly without precedent. A good film definitely worth watching.

I heard GREAT things about 'Little Miss Sunshine'. I haven´t seen it yet because it´s no longer in the cinemas here and the dvd didn´t officially come out here yet, but, I know from people I trust in (their tastes) that it is a lot of fun and a really sweet and nice movie

^^^^I loved little miss sunshine! it was so cute, sort of remind me of my childhood in a weird way....I couldn't stop laughing at times.... I saw the last king of scotland a while ago and now because it was nominated they put it back in the cinema, it wasn't a huge box office, it turned a bit gruesome at points but the performance by both actors were great. I saw smoking Aces with ben affleck and bunch of people actors, they are all good and even though they have small parts, they did a good job, like a hollywood hit man movie, its based on a story of several grpups trying to pop the same guy, Ace! so in the end there are a lot of bullets, slang and the f word in every sentence, I kinda got bore in the middle but I loved the ending. I always watch this type of movies that are not chick flicks but at some point I have to hang out with my sister so I'm forced to watch chick flicks...A movie with Mandy Moore and Diane Keaton, Because I said so....what a BORE! its like an anoying mother triying to set up her daughter, More with a life partner...(getting more popcorn) So the only good thing was the cute guy, so yummy but aside, not really funny. So since sis got to pick last time, I get to pick next, though I don't think she'll put resistance to watching ryan Philipe in Breach www.breachmovie.net/

Does anyone know if "300" was released somewhere? imdb.com/title/tt0416449/ I heard great, great things about it..., but not in many places, what makes me think it was not released in many places/countries or it just failed selling tickets.... The photography and art work in it looks incredible. I would love to watch it really....

"300" is going to be released here... I saw the trailer when I went to see Blood Diamond (loved it also) and I was awed at the photography. It really seems amazing and the actors' characterization is out of this world. I only recognized Gerard Butler by the voice really and since he is one of my favourite actors I definitely want to see it. Edit: just checked and is to be released in the US in March only, but the trailer came out to the web and is already considered of the best of the year. It apparently is generating huge amounts of interest. www.gerardbutler.net/300/300_promo_trailer.htmApart from that ,another I'm interested in is "The Painted Veil" with Edward Norton and Naomi Watts about an english doctor gone to work in a remote and plague infested zone of China in the 1930s and to that God forsaken place he takes his unfaithful wife with him, as a punishment... it's also another must for me! kisses
