Speaking of leo.... I've just seen his latest movie called Blood Diamond. Like Leo or no, this is one of the most powerful movies I have seen in a very long time. Directed by Edward Zwick (responsible for movies like Legends of the Fall, Glory and the Last Samurai.) its about diamond trafficking. Its been a long time since I cried at a movie but the waterworks were on and off during the whole thing and I wasn't the only one. It's not a movie for the faint of heart. It's gritty and dirty and the horror of certain scenes can only be depassed by the actual reality that it reflects. It's a movie that makes you think, that pushes you to question what you think you know, and open your mind to situations that it can be all too easy to ignore. It's a movie that leaves you feeling drained as well as helpless and inspired in equal measures. The acting and directing are fantastic. The film is very well constructed and Leo DiCaprio's south african accent is not bad at all...having said that I'm not from South Africa so I'm not sure how on the mark it is (or isn't as the case maybe) I understand it got mixed reviews here in the States but I would definitely recommend it. I'd be curious to know what other people who've seen it think.

Yeah I also saw blood Diamond, IT was totally worth it. Probably one of the best movies I ave ever seen. and the Sad part is that is ALL real. Di caprio not only acts better, he looks better....at one point in his hotel he is only wearing a towel with his broze skin "totally worth the seven bucks" I was crying like a baby at the end...so long they haven't made a movie like this.....go see it no matter what.
I saw also Happy feet on Imax, so cute, its for kids but I still like the story and even though its for a samll audeince it leaves you with many meesages. In the end I though Al gore was going to come up and say something (ji ji ji) it was well made and fun.
James Bond totally hot, I liked the action scenes and the romantic story. I also liked that this guy doesn't give a sht about shaken or stirred and that he put in his place the guy with the range rover, also they show a little of miami beach which is also nice.
I still have to see apocalipto and night at the museum and the holiday...I'll let u know about those...

I loved Blood Diamond too, but hated the end of DiCaprio's character . The movie is incredible but the message will definitely be too tough for some people's stomachs. One movie I don't recommend: 'Apocalypto' - I couldn't watch it for more than 15 minutes. A lot of violence, dark settings that manage to conceal Gibson's message - in case he had one.

Taboo I hate to disagree with u. I loved Apocalypto. I think from the whole range of movies that came out for the holidays (there was practically a movie for every day) Apocalypto was the best. IT was original, compelling and different from the others.
The shots were filmed in a way no other director has ever tried, and the story couldn't be more modern. Even though is a movie from the past Gibson is showing a parallel from the past with today. The "actors" were veru well trained and the whole thing was soo out of this world ( like some of the techniques they cure themselves with) that to me, It was a total piece of work. The fights, (especially the last one), the scenography, the language, the story, the whole "family united"....this movie its a 10+. Now that is something u don't see everyday.
I can understand why some people don't like it, I mean some scenes are very bloddy, gibson's style. If u were eating popcorn, would probably puke, but just don't buy popcorn and go watch it. The truth is, even with his style, historically thats how they were, and the Aztecs are even more bloody....hopefully he won't make a movie form them.
If you wanna see something different, with strong content, real meanning and great story telling...this movie is a must.
I also saw the Holiday with Cameron Dias and Kate Winslet. Let me tell you: Jude Law totally worth the 7 bucks...just like leo ji ji ji. It was cool chick flick, kinda long, but then u get a lot of LAW with it too. its cute, its fun....light movie, recomend to see it with ur date...

Turned on the TV the other day and there was a good oldie on which I stopped and watched with great great pleasure... "Girl. Interrupted". Young Angelina Jolie, Wynona Ryder, Whoopi Goldberg, Brittany Murphy and some others. Good, strong, girl (and not only) movie...grab a DVD and watch it. It's sad but it's very good

I loved Angelina Jolie in that movie ,just realised afterwards she got the Oscar for that role cos she's always "acting too much" ,which perfectly fits for a nutscase

I just watched "A Very Long Engagement" www.imdb.com/title/tt0344510/ I absolutely LOVED it. I don´t know if everyone will feel the same about it, but I liked it..., A LOT ;D I don´t think Jean Pierre Jeunet (the director) will ever make a movie I don´t like. I didn´t particularly enjoy "Alien Resurrection" but...., Tim Burton has got "Planet of the apes" , it can´t get worst than that. Apart from it, Audrey Tautou I absolutely adore the woman. I know some people find her annoying...., not me BTW, I absolutely recommend "Les Poupées russes" ("The Russian dolls"). I liked it a lot. Audrey does a tiny part in it...., but it came to my mind when I named her ;D ;D Don´t even bother with "L' Auberge espagnole" ("The Spanish apartment"). It´s suposed to be the first part... I personally found it very annoying..., and in so many levels it makes no sense explaining it. Besides, you´ll understand "Les Poupées russes" perfectly without watching "The Spanish apartment", trust me. *sigh* So many good French movies!! I love French cinema..., if such thing, as a unit, apart from the country is comes from, exists LOL ;D Finally, a classic, "Un homme et une femme" ("A Man and a Woman") of Claude Lelouch. THAT is romanticism In my humble opinion, it was to the 60' what "Before Sunrise" was to the 90' Anouk Aimée, stunning!! Not a classic beauty, but gorgeous... and Jean-Louis Trintignant in his prime don´t even let me start.... And I´m not even mention they are incredible actors.... Don´t even dare to watch it if your fave kind of movie is "Bridget Jones" or "Indiana Jones" LOL Anyway.... I guess that´s all for today.... I´m going through a French movies period, I guess EDIT: If any of you watch "A Man and a Woman", don´t even dare to watch "A Man and a Woman: 20 Years Later" after it, it will ruin everything....
