annie...well I saw Incubus CDs on sale here and with Sealth being shown in cinemas right now, they're quite "in" right now but....not massively popular or anything

My favorite russian born writer is Wladimir Kaminer . He live in Berlin, write about his impression at his news home and how he get to know germans. He have a really special sense of humor and reading his short storys is very funny ;D. Annie did you know him ?

Kaminer is incredible..I love his books....he cracks me up with his wicked sense of humour..yeah lena..he's well known here and I like to read his stories, too

Annie, do you know Irina Denejkina?I bought one of her books last year "Vodka- Cola"!!Was interesting.... She describes the Russian life style!!Sometimes, her words are a bit crude...but I like her book anyway...

No Liz, I actually never heard of her...but I will take a look at the shop ...thanks If any of you come across translations of a Russian modern writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya....buy that....laughter through tears sort of thing, some of her books are very serious but she's a literature genius

Thanks Annie: found a lot of Ulitzkaja books at german amazon, i will try it. I have some Kaminer Audio Books, He read his story itself ;D, It is so incredible funny. He has still such a funny russian dialect ;D. Great stuff . And i like his music collection "Russen soul"
