Hey Liz, sorry I just realised I hadn't answered your question about Leonid's band....They are quite popular but they're a kind of a very standard boy band..."Westlife", "Blue", "Backstreet Boys" kind of thing...so they are mostly popular with very young girls LOL

Uffffff tell me when to stop LOL Well, Liz my tour around Russia really depends on how much time are you willing to spend here. I will presume it's a normal 10-day - 2 week holiday. In that period you can cover two major cities (ermm it will be a tiring trip though LOL) Moscow and St. Petersburg. I was born in Moscow, live in Moscow, love Moscow to the bottom of my heart but St.Petersburg in my opinion is an even more beautiful city So I would suggest 3-4 days in Moscow and the rest - in St. Petersburg. Places which are a MUST to go and see in Moscow: 1. Red Square ...DUH!!! LOL That includes an excursion around Kremlin and all the Cathedrals there, all the museums and Alexandrovsky Park around it. This might take you about 3-4 hours on its own 2. From what I gathered you are an art lover, so there are two Galleries, which are a must: Tretyakovskaya Gallery (an enormous collection of Russian art of many centuries) and the Pushkin Museum (some very nice artwork including Monet, who is in fact my fav artist ;D) 3. The Bolshoi Theatre. Well this is a museum on its own Plus you get to see a ballet or an opera performed by the best artists you can find in the world in these fields, so this is a must too. However, it is currently closed for restoration until 2008. That is the old building. They do have a new one which functions, it is smaller and not as legendary but still very nice. 4. Stariy (Old) Arbat street. The only pedestrian street in Moscow. Very pretty, loads of souvenier shops and stuff to be found...lovely walk. 5. Tverskaya street - the central street of Moscow. Beautiful buildings, loads of shops, restaurants, cinemas, etc. You can walk along it till you drop, it's very long and this is as centre as it gets ;D 6. Vorobyevi gori - is a huge hill, where you have a special platform and get to see all Moscow from very high up...it's breathtaking 7. There are quite a few parks in Moscow worth visiting. Green, some of them have 18th century palaces of Russian tzars and their servants....very nice, too. Gorky Park is a famous amusement place with a Luna Park and many fun rides, cafes, little boat trips you can take down the Moscow river...lovely I can talk endlessly about Moscow sweetie but it really depends on what one wants to do and see...there are hundreds of museums and galleries here to satisfy everyone tastes ;D St. Petersburg as a city is wow!!!!!! But it's not the city as such (even though it is gorgeous) that attracts tourists, it's the outskirts. This city was an old capital of the Russian Empire, so tzars, their servants and close-to tzars people had their houses and palaces there. All these palaces are still there and they have been restored and they are in excellent condition. All of them are surrounded by acres of green parks and it is absolutely unreal There are sooooooo many.... So come over people!!!!!!! You have a personal guide here ;D

Annie, thank you so much for the tour around Moskow and St Petersburg, although it hurt a little to read about it: me and my friend really wanted to go there this summer, but since neither of us have won the lottery yet (yes, I keep trying but only made 2,5 euros so far, which was about the same money I paid for the lottery ticket ;D) we'll have to wait another year and hopefully by then I'll have enough money. It's mainly the plane ticket that's really expensive, but hotelrooms don't come cheap either! So sorry Annie to be bugging you with another question, but do you know if it's possible to find a reasonably priced hotel, and how we could find information about it? The only info we found was through tourist guides and the internet, and let's just say the hotels we found so far weren't exactly within budget. And you being a real Moscovite (is this a word? might give us some inside information! Thanks a lot if you might have the time to help me out, but don't worry about it if you don't, we won't be leaving for another year anyway! ;D

OK, one by one. Liz do not go to the bookstore!!!! I bought a really good guide for you and it has a city and a tube map in it, too. I will post it to you this weekend Tube...ah yeah!!! That's another museum. Tourists go down there to take photos and videos because it is simply gorgeous!!!!!!! It is 75 years old and some stations are a real piece of art Laney...what is a budget range you're hoping for? For a hotel I mean... As for tickets...yeah, that can be a bummer but you have to watch out for special offers too. Aeroflot gets very generous once or twice a year usually Laney let me know the budget limits and I will see what I can do for you

thanks for your offer Annie, maybe I will use this very soon ;D. I like moscva. You feel the power of mother russia in the city. And the metro is a really pice of art and engineering. A must seen. But like yourself, St.Petersburg is my also my favorite .
