I will be there on the 2nd June - Lake Baikal - ;D ;D. You probably don't know [why would you being Russian ] how, well not difficult, more like 'precise' you have to be on your visa application. I am soooooo looking forward to it. I have always wanted to go to Russia after a friend of my mothers came back - in the very late 70's when I was just 1 [or near abouts ] - with a Bubushka doll for me. I have talked a friend to meet me in St Petersburg and travel back to Moscow with me. I have travelled heaps, but the thought of travelling in Russia by myself has scared me a little. He is gay and apparently [on the gay scene] Russia is the place to go!! ;D

I know the dates! I have to for the visa [%$%$, really, do they all think we will get there and absond???] Well, in saying that, seeing the Russian Davis Cup Team and thinking the rest of Russia is bred to look like that, it could be possible . Sorry, I digress [in the best possible way ;D] I hope to be in Moscow on the 11th of June and then leave St Petersburg on the 16th and make my way back to Moscow by the 24th. Debate at the moment whether we go to Talinn, Mumusrk [some reason I would love to go there - might be to do with a chance meeting at Tromso Airport with a beautiful man from Mumursk 3 years ago - or go to Yekaterinburg and then back to Moscow. Any suggestions?

I'd go for Tallinn - it's BEAUTIFUL...BUT 1. Tallinn is not Russia anymore so you'll need a separate visa 2. Have no idea what Mumursk is LOL... Murmansk maybe??? 3. Well I am really not too good at advising you where to go in Russia (Moscow and St.Petersburg, yes I am the one LOL) because I haven't visited many places myself but if I were you, I would take a trip around a so-called "Golden Ring": Vladimir, Yaroslavl, Suzdal, etc. They are really small cute towns but each has an incredibly beautiful Kremlin of its own from the old times and some AMAZING churches ;D While in Moscow - please don't hesitate to call me ANYTIME (I will give you all my numbers ) Re: visa. Sweetie, I have to deal with all that when I travel almost ANYWHERE in the world because I am Russian....

Yes, the Golden Ring, that's what I wanted to do, but a bit unsure doing it by myself. I just love history, architecture and of course culture [lucky I am a fan of vodka!! ]. When I get back to Moscow my plan is to tour the underground, from what I read and see, they ane 'art gallery' in themselves. And of course, for me, part of the culture is restaurants, pubs and bars ;D

Do you have sisters living in Russia? I have a sister who visited Moscow for work purposes recently, Avalon. I am actually the eldest of 5, 4 girls and a boy. I think he definitely got a rough deal. If my sister had told me she was going to Moscow would have asked her to try and visit the: Obraztsov Puppet Theatre - I think you can go and see the actual puppets when performances are not taking place. Shadow Theatre Moscow Puppet Ttheatre and ???House of Cats So I shall have to ask you (possibly with a camera)!!? Annie, have you been to any of these places? I would really like to go to the Obraztsov Puppet Theatre. If I ever get to Moscow just block book me some theatre seats.!! If you haven't decided on an itinerary yet, what about Tolsoy's estate? I think that's to the south of Moscow, but I don't know what else there is to see there.
