I saw that too in studio sportzomer. But I think he already had a few beers to many. Did you see them last night in the Holland Heineken House??? It was crazy. And Caroline, we have won gold with rowing in previous olympics. Well, lets blame the beer then Holland Heineken House was funny last night! Also the comments about Erica Terpstra and crowdsurfing ;D

Hi Jiat, Bettina went through the start twice and the clock should have started the first time she went through. It did not start, therefore the time penalties she should have incurred did not happen until there was a protest. They were applied then the German team appealed. For some strange reason the ground jury reinstated Bettina, then the French, British and US teams appealed to the Court of Arbitration in Sport, who rightly ruled that the time penalties should apply to Bettina's show jumping round. It is normal, even if you mess up the start, to continue with a competition. Unlike many other sports horse riders, if the horse is OK, get back on and continue, they don't just give up or tank if something has gone wrong. That part everyone is cool with. It's a horrible situation to be in, but lesser mistakes have cost trophies before and will again, that's sport. What has shocked the eventing fraternity is that after Bettina was reinstated she tried to talk to the French team and they refused to speak to her - something that you just don't do in eventing. Other equestrian disciplines it's common eg showing, but not in eventing. They have lost a lot of respect as a team and as individuals. Quite simply any of us could have made the same mistake, we would all have expected as a minimum a 14 point time penalty. We can only hope that everything settles down and it has not damaged the sport badly, people just write it off as something out of character in a high pressure situation.

Magz>> the french volleyball team lost again, and i just read that the last team of their group to qualify for the quarters will be either France or Poland .... so now just pray that it will be Poland (sorry to my fellow countrymen) cuz thus i'll be able to see Golas again (uhh, no, not again i'll see him finally ;D) LOL thanks Stef ;D. Now we have to win with Argentina to qualify to the quaters which will be very difficult . But I believe we can make it somehow... And I hope you will FINALLY get to see Golas, coz Anita saw him and she thinks he's cute ;D didn't poland beat tunisia or sth? or is that women's Vball? not sure.... yes, we won with Tunisia. It was men's volleyball, our female team did come to Athens. And yaaaaaaay!!! we have another gold!!! This time it was in rowing!!!!!

I don't know a lot about Romain, all I know is that we both love the ocean and Jeff Buckley that's why he strikes some chords in me... Do you have any other info about him? I hope your "hehehe" and don't necessarily imply anything like he's gay or something...

What has shocked the eventing fraternity is that after Bettina was reinstated she tried to talk to the French team and they refused to speak to her - something that you just don't do in eventing. Really?! didn't know about that.... i saw one of them on french tv after Bettina has been reinstated. He wasn't angry at all, or mad at her. He was pretty proud of what they had achieved anyway. Equestrian isn't really famous here, so when they first thought they had won the silver medal they were very happy and satisfied. Then Bettina got the penalty and they were even more proud, but the guy said silver would have been great too. What they didn't appreciate then was that the jury finally stated that the german team would have the gold medal despite the penalties. They were not mad at Bettina, they were shocked by how the jury acted because they overruled the decision which gave her the penalty despite the fact that her mistake was obvious and everybody had recognized it, especially the international equestrian federation (or whatever it's called). That's why they appealed this decision. I didn't know they refused to talk to her, that's surprising, and very sad hope things will be better in the future...
