I am so glad that Marat decided not to soldier on with the climb when he was not 100%. I hope the team manage the summit through. GOOD LUCK, I am sure Marat will be waiting to give you a treat when you come back safely.

FROM OS:
30th September 2007 Marat has concern for Abramov and the delegation that he was with and trusts they will overcome the weather and the difficulties and stay safe and make it to the summit.

(Liberal sprinkling of fairy dust over Cho Oyu today). Mind you, they'll probably be too knackered to do anything other than sleep and recover from altitude sickness. A little luxury won't do the guys any harm though. ;D

Awww, I think the guys are going to do it. Just checked the summit website:
BORIS KORSHUNOV - ON THE SUMMIT OF CHO OYU, AT 72... 2th October at 16:00 Boris Korshunov has climbed Cho Oyu at the age of 72 (born 31.08.1935). He started from tha camp 2 (7100 m) at 9 a.m. intending to overnight in the camp 3 (7500m). At 12 a.m. he reached the place of camp 3 but could not find his tent. Then the russian veteran-climber decided to go to the summit the same day. He was on the summit of Cho Oyu at 4 p.m. and went back to the camp 2.
Next day Boris descended to ABC to be congratuled by his friends from Alex Abramov expedition.
The guys aren't far from the summit now, and the weather has turned favourable. Awwww. Boris - 72 years old! Bless 'im! What a feat.
The fairy dust really does work!!! ;D Go for it guys - and get the champers chilled for them Big Yin!

Have they completed the summit?!? ;D Awww!!! If they have, well done guys. I take my hat off to you. Great achievement. Get back safely now! (And make sure Boris isn't wandering around the mountain looking for his tent). I'll keep sprinkling fairy dust until you've got past base-camp. Okay, what's the Big Yin done? Offered the keys to the Russian Ritzski? LMAO. PS Don't treat the boys to a night in disco Paradise, or whatever it's called! They need to chill out.

The last four weeks I have been travelling in the United States. I only had Internet a few times and halfway my trip I read that Marat was going to climb a mountain. I was shocked to read that and I was thinking: why is he doing this? And it was so frustrating that I couldn’t follow this story, because I didn’t had Internet. My trip in America was amazing, but I’m happy I’m home again so that I can watch tennis again. I have missed too much things the last weeks.

Waaaahaaayyy!!! They did it! Well done guys - brill. Get the champers chilled and the rooms booked Big Yin. These guys need a treat (though I'm sure the summit was one hell of a treat). Hope they took pics!! YES - SUMMIT CHO OYU FOR OUR GROUP... Six climbers from Seven Summits Club – Alpindustria expedition has summited Cho Oyu this morning. Alex Abramov, Yuriy Beloyvan, Konstantin Zhelezov, Dmitry Moskalev, Alexander Chesnokov (all from Moscow), Evgeny Semenov (from Sakhalin, Far East) were on the top at about 9:00 Tibet time. Alex called directly from the summit. Later he have informed that all group was already in camp 2 and had plan to reach camp 1 this evening.
