Ok my Big Pixie, I've just had a garden shredder delivered and will be heading out to shred half the garden today. I expect you to do the same to your opponent's game today. I'll be giving up more garden time to watch the match, and expect another straight sets victory. Your energy needs conserved for the next round ... ;D As does mine.
No rushing at the net (!) unless necessary. Keep it decisive. Slide, slide, slide and whack that ball like yesterday. And keep the head focused. It's a good look for you. ;D Keep the ball in and keep the opponent guessing. Try out a couple of drop shots now and again to see if that works ... if it doesn't, up the ante on the net play.

I felt like I jinxed him. had trouble finding livefeed, finally could watch it and tennis channel finally aired it...4-0.......and ending up losing the match........... had I not woke up at 5am just to watch him play, would things have been different? good thing is, he is still earning points? or at least not losing any? |

Ladies im sorry to say Marat's lost his balls!
He shoudlve won 6-2 6-2 yet he loses 6-7 6-2 6-7 - Only Marat can pull that off, seems like he hasnt shrugged off the curse of Gael Monfils.
What confuses me is why all of the talk of playing with no pressure then bottling it at the end - id rather have him tank the match than lose it like this.
I mean leading 4-0 in the final set to lose it - in honesty its more harder blowing that lead than regaining it.
I also dont beieve the mini comebacks at 6-5 and in the TB were fightbacks - it was just Lappenti tanking it this time.
Quite impressed however with the Marat ball smash into the sea - Bon Voyage and broken racket - Genius!
However its not all Marat bashing - I cant stand players like Lappenti - who offer nothing but movement and the odd dispatch of the short ball- he obviously knows the weakness of giving Marat no pace - and just god damn chipping the ball back - doesnt make fun viewing on his behalf but in his defence it worked - all i can say good luck against Rafa!
Positives for Marat i suppose -He shouldve won in 2 sets, ball striking was good for about 2 and a half hours, hair is continuing to grow and to some extent he does look like he wants to play!
With that im just gonna say if it was a 5 setter match Marat wouldve come back and won the last 2 sets - Positive Thinking!
Roll on Barcelona - Vamos!!!!!
