Ive given 5 mins to reflect on that match and i think Marat you fool - you had matchpoints, 2 Breaks in final set and play a terrible TB! What a way to leave Miami! As Marat is talking that he is playing competitive tennis this year, this was a missed opportunity - this was a match that couldve lead him to a big week - but fell short once again! However i must say Marat played really really well, i must admit i saw the brilliant Safin however watchin the last 4 games of the match - the error prone Safin will stick in our minds! For 2 and half sets i think he was very consistent, striking the ball well, coming into net too, and keeping his cool, adjusting to the weather conditions and least must we forget he is playing the 9th seed - and put up a mighty fine good fight, shows he is not far off the mid-elite of the game! He wants the big matches, he gets them but he needs to take them if he wants a title this year! Must admit this match was an Epic, and very entertaining whilst extemely annoying, but i thank Marat and Monfils for brightening my Sunday Evening! Now the focus for Marat is Roland Garros - God Help Us or No Need to worry??

7-5 5-7 6-7 Keekh, as we say in Scotland! Shite, as we say in full honesty! I had anticipated a straight sets win... Can we at least be positive about the loss? Just one comment on the net approaches - glad to see that you employed the tactic so often - can we make it more decisive on a consistent basis though? You've got so much better at the net over the last year, but can I just, in fairy-wishes, get to see a wee change? When your opponent is at the net, volley it well away from him - not straight at him. You hit some very sweet net shots tonight, and the winners were the decisive shots at the net. Don't be apprehensive, hit the winner. Don't be so gentle on the volley. Get the consistency! On the mid-court ball, it's the same. Don't hesitate, when you whack it, it works. You need to be decisive. Now that you're in your last year on the tour, you've got nothing to lose. Whack it Big Yin! LOL. Despite the loss, very proud fairy of you tonight. Go get some rest, and some pasta ... and for gawd's sake, don't get that hair cut for another 6 months. Shish, what a shave. You muppet, you'll get sunstroke! Self-harm. LMAO.

Should I be glad that I just missed the match? Reading that Marat's wearing a hat makes me regret that I missed it though. Such a shameful score, so painful to swallow... One tiebreaker could've been a totally different story, oh Marat! ps. Dina and Ana both lost, too.

I am getting too tired of rolling my eyes He had no hair that he had to wear a cap to prevent from sunburn ? Well, thank goodness that his hair grows fast!

hey everyone... got back from Miami yesterday - it was amazing! I probably took about 250 pics of Marat over the course of three days - some are obviously better than others - I just tried to get as many as I could and figured I'd delete all the crappy ones... I also have some good pics of Roger, Dimitry T, Youzhny, Ana I, Nadal and a few others. I just posted them all to a shutterfly website - the address is sonyericssonopen2009.shutterfly.com/. Feel free to download, share, do what you like with any of the pics, I don't care. Hope you enjoy - the Safin pics start at around pic 95

Just to throw in my two cents about this match... I had to stop watching at 4-2 in the 3rd to go to a birthday party. I felt pretty confident since he had already gotten the break so you can imagine how surprised I was to later find out that he had lost.. What in the world happened? I am literally sich about this match. I mean I have watched Marat lose a lot of matches throughout the year but this has got to be one of the most disappointing. He seemed to be fully in control. I can't imagine how he must be feeling today knowing that he let this one get away.

Miami was very hot -- and humid! It may have been hot in Indian Wells, but the humidity makes it 10 times worse. Left home before the crack of down Friday morning -- got to Miami, and to the Grandstand, just as Marat was leaving following his win. And a week in IW, no sunburn. HALF A DAY in Miami, sunburn! Unbelievable. Saturday, only stayed on the grounds for about 2 hours -- did not feel well at all. Sunday, feeling much better -- but the forecast did not look promising. Luckily, it only sprinkled a couple of times. And it was a Grandstand Day. Got the Grandstand seats this year (they have a section of reserved seating), and that is definitely the way to go! Wonderful being able to come and go without losing your seat (which was a first row seat!), and felt a little VIP being able to pass by all the people lined up trying to get into the bleachers. LOL ;D Also nice being able to see some players actually play (Novak, Monfils, Tsonga) that I only saw practice at IW. And I get a little bit of a sense as to the grueling nature of having IW-Miami back-to-back. It's a little crazy. ;D Pictures to come ... OH - and today is another banner Grandstand Day! Why oh why?! Shame I couldn't stay that long ...
