A late unexpected entry into the 2007 boodles challenge for Mr Marat Safin. If i remember he played here in 2005 and did okay but it seems he wants to get some matches under his belt and will have some good opposition to face including. Although it's not confirmed on Marat's OS - it says so on the website so i'll stick by it! www.theboodles.com/content/players.phpAndy Murray David Nalbandian Tommy Haas? Misha Youzhny ( defending champ) Zhenya Korolev Robin Soderling Fernando Verdasco Nicolas Massu Nicolas Kiefer Marat Safin Goran Ivanesevic The Bryan Bro's Tournament starts on tuesday i think although it's an exhibition i would'nt get too worried about the results as im sure this is good prepaparation for him! DAVAI MARAT!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's good to have some more preperation for him, as the grass season is so short with already an GS upcoming in a week..! But how exactly does this tourny works? Is there a draw or Round Robin-system..?? I knew he wanted to join last years tourny as well but couldn't because of injury.. But I don't exactly know how this works.. Anyone?? I think the website hasn't got TOO MUCH info.. Not to say nothing at all..LOL:p! kisses

I'm not too sure but i basically think it's an 8 man knockout tournaments but some players also play exhibitions against each other so Marat will definitely have 2 singles matches! Whether he uses them as practise or competition will have to wait and see!

It's not broadcast in England so i wouldn't think so, wish it was. I hadn't even heard of this tournament until recently and i used to live in Buckinghamshire wish i still did now It sounds incredibly posh so very English with strawberries and cream and cups of tea. Have you seen the packages you can buy? £3,900 for 12 people in the players enclosure how great would that be? Theres even a package for £250,000 that's insane.

just found out this info The Boodles challenge is played over five days. Each player in the official field is scheduled to play three matches. The eight man field is assembled in traditional quarter-final format with winners going through to the finals and losers continuing to compete in a series of exhibition matches throughout the week.

Murray comeback remains on hold Murray is battling to be fit in time for Wimbledon Andy Murray will not feature in the opening day of the Boodles Challenge as he continues his recovery from injury. The 20-year-old has not played since injuring his wrist last month and is a doubt for Wimbledon next week.
His agent Patricio Apey said: "Andy was not ready to play a match today but the beauty of the tournament is that we can take it day by day.
"There are eight players in the field and then a series of exhibition matches and we will leave a slot open for him."
Murray missed the French Open and Artois Championships but is scheduled to play at Stoke Park this week.
The British number one moved up one place to a career-high eighth in the world rankings this week despite being sidelined. He picked up the injury during his match against Filippo Volandri in the first round of the Hamburg Masters on 15 May. Though Murray did not break any bones, his wrist was inflamed and he was forced to wear a cast. He has only played two full matches since the Miami Masters Series event in March.
Murray told BBC Sport last week he would wait until the last minute before making a decision on Wimbledon and would not risk playing in SW19 if his wrist had not fully recovered.
Today's OOP: Nalbandian vs Kiefer Soderling vs Massu
Hass and Murray have been deleted from the players list, which now reads: Nalbandian Kiefer Korolev Andreev ;D Soderling Massu Verdasco Safin

There's even a package for £250,000 that's insane. What? You'd expect a snogging session with the Big Yin thrown in for that! Boodles is, I think, a 'country club'. And expensive. Even more than Wimbles. You'd need to take out a mortgage for strawberries and cream. I don't think the Big Yin will get much practice on grass - the weather reports say it's going to be hammering down this week. Even if he has to stay indoors, he should practice coming in to the net (I know, I sound like a stuck record on that one), serving wide and putting more topspin on the ball. The weather had better hurry up and change before I get to Wimbles. I ain't sitting in the rain again at my age. My knees will start throbbing. I'm back now from Liverpool - and still excited at having FINALLY seen Borg, after a 20 stricken year wait. If anyone in Stockholm is reading this, can you please give Wolf the alsation a kick up the arse from me. And then run. I was emptying my SKY planner last night (getting ready for Wimbles) and I managed to catch the end of the Grosjean match after the rain delay. Good to see the Big Yin finish it off cleanly. He's getting to grips with grass. At last. (Instead of Queens, he should go to Liverpool next year. There'll be a whole troop of tgfr supporters waiting for him! And he could even get in some practice with Borg!) Another PS Have you guys seen this, a DVD: "Sharing a Laugh with Marat Safin," is co-hosted by Niclas Kroon, former Swedish ATP touring pro, and Suhler. The show includes comments about Marat from his former coach Peter Lundgren. Lundgren, who coached Marat from 2004 - 2006 and Roger Federer from 1997 -- 2003, is now England's Davis Cup Coach. Grand Slam Champion and Television Commentator Cliff Drysdale also shares a few thoughts about Safin. The DVD contains the interview, which runs 22 minutes, plus two very nice extras. There is an extended "Fan Cut" that runs 33 minutes and includes comments from Marat's former coach and Grand Slam Champion Mats Wilander. Viewers will also find "The Golden Bagel Award Story" featuring the inaugural award presentation to Roger Federer. SideSpin Productions, Inc. honors the top male tennis pro who delivers the most "bagels" (6-0 sets), to his opponents throughout the year. You can go to the Golden Bagel Award™ website www.goldenbagelaward.com to learn more about the irreverent award. Since Safin is a huge international sports figure, the DVD includes subtitles in Russian, Spanish, and Chinese to help make it accessible to more fans. You can view promos and purchase the DVD on the web at www.safinlaughing.comI've ordered mine. I want to laugh at the sarcy humour.
