Top pics aussiechick!
Congrats to federer, i was happy he won, but i was actually going for Fernando tonight, so i felt a bit down for him. I think they both played great, the score can be so decieving in tennis. Federer is just kinda out of this world. I think Gonzo is a fantastic player. If anyone was watching the HOT SHOTS on Ch 7 he deserves to win the hot shot of the tournament, that thing he pulled over rafa was magic!!
Goodbye AO.. im so sad !!!!!

Ok well I'm sad that Haas lost but happy cause hes comeing here next week to defend his title....second I'm sorry but that andy-fed match was a drag...I mean seriously at one point the commentators in espn (who are lame) compare roger with a symphony and that all of us were listening, some crazy s*** that I didn't really get, to end with something like this " you know audience talk amongs yourself there is nothig to say here" ...u know espn we notice! I'm sorry for roddick but that was some humiliating match....I was wondering then, if Marat would have been in that semi, how would things would have looked...? As I have said before and I would say it again... Andy has nothing to be ashamed of, and this match was not humiliating. There is Roger on a good day and there is the rest of the tennis world..this is how huge the gap is. Yesterday it was one of Roger's finest performances and symphony and ballet are not the only metaphors I could come up with. It was magical, fireworks. I know a lot of people cannot stand Roger and say that they are getting bored of him winning all the time. But hey, it's not like he is not in the same conditions as everyone else and it is not his fault he has such amazing talent in the game. To answer your question about Marat being out there instead of Andy yesterday - the outcome would have been the same. I am more than certain about it. Just to throw my two cents in ....I agree with Giselle about the effusive praise that goes Roger's way. I'm not saying I don't think he deserves to be complimented but I do think that comparing him to ballets and symphonies is just exaggerating, not necessarily in its intention but just the connotation that comes off of it...it's like trying to walk through molasses...thick and sweet to the point where you can't breathe. That is just my opinion. When you get right down to it, I think I dislike Roger not so much becasue of the man himself, but becasue I get so fed up (no pun intended) of hearing people wax lyrical about him....*shrug* Having said that, there is no question that he played an extraordinary match against Andy. And yes, no matter who else was out there the result would have probably been the same. The second set was just one of those moment's in an athletes career where everything you touch turns to gold. I mean as fantastic a player as Roger is, I don't think its just down to his talent...there is a connation to the french word "reussite" which is not just about success but just a bit of luck in it too. Roger was making shots in that second set that even he on a good day some other time might not be able to reproduce at will. As for what it had been Marat.... Andy and Marat are different players and pose Roger different problems. Whether or not that would have mattered....I guess we'll never know will we? *heads back to Lollipop Lane to make a long distance call to the Candyman* Thank you Bia...maybe u know how to put it better than I do. I know Fedex is great and he earned and deserves to be where he is but its just lame the way that commentators talk about him, even his girlfriend said it once in an interview and she rarely talks. . Second of all. the andy-fedex game, it all depends on what u like. Tell u the truth I like a "hard match" like a 5 setter and I think Andy has the power to do that. The fact is I think he could do better and if ur paying a tix like Nush did, u hope for a nice match between two titans. I could expect a match like that in the second round, even M Youshzny (don't knwo how to spell it) was more exciting than roddicks. It all depends on what u like. In the end no matter what, Fedex keeps winning em all.

hello people
i have been really busy with studies so havnt been able to post any comments!!! so here is my summary of comments i kept telling myself i need to post on TGFR 1. Safins outburst in Roddick match..........although i think he is completely hot when he is angry....i thought that he had his emotions under control since coming back fro injury....but watching this match i felt like we had gone back in time................i think cool and collective is a better look for Safin rather than swearing at officials:( 2. In all the money that AO makes surely there is a better way to dry the courts than towels WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3. Why does Andy Murray always get some kind of pain in the but, knee shoulder, stomach or this time ribs!!!.....will he ever finish a gran slam without complaining??? 4. Happy belated birthday Marat!!!! and well done on a good AO run!!!! 5. Well done to Kim clijsiters.......possible but not hopefully her last AO:( 6. Another williams victory!!! not bad going for someone who did a cameo on ER and designs her own clothes in her spare time!!! 7. Fernando Gonzalez!!!! BLOODY WELL DONE!!!!!! 8. Roger Federer....u just keep breaking statistics of everykind!!!! We love it!!!!
thanks for all the pictures and reports too everyone.........i envy all u lucky ones who got to go and see the matches!! Im so jealous!!!

What bloody difference would another 5 minute delay have made? Towels? Ha ha ha. Yes, it made me laugh. Tell them to get the hairdryers out next time. Andy's fitness? He's Scottish. Say no more. Brad needs to get him out on a 10 mile daily run with a rucksack full of lead. Plus being Scottish he will naturally complain at every godforsaken opportunity. It's in our genes. The weather doesn't help. Maestro? Superb display. ;D He's not boring, he's just consistent in winning ... and keeps getting better. Frightening. Long may he keep putting the bar up. PS Good luck with the studying Iman ... it doesn't necessarily last forever ... just feels like it sometimes.

Nevertheless its over, hopefully next year is better! I love AO ;D ;D ;D its the only time that I dont have to wake up/ stay till odd hours and I get to see my beloved players live!
