hey! i saw marat's match on court 1 yesterday and heard what happened so i'll explain! it was very funny!! well it was when marat hit the ball and it was called out and he thought it was in he went up to the umpire to basically say that it was a stupid call. so then he was serving and he hit a ball that he obviously thought was out but no call came so he decided to argue with the umpire again (silly man!) he said something along the lines of, "i hit a ball good and it's out and i hit a ball out and you say it's good??!!" then he puffed out his cheeks and shrugged in disbelief and looked over at lopez and said something like "that ball was out, no?" and lopez smiled and shrugged and said he didn't know. it was all very funny! hope that helps! Thank U very much, Jehaan! Yes, it helps and it is funny indeed! Well, this is our guy, right? A great player, a great character! :DYep, that's Marat and that's why we love him!

You know the similarity between Marat and Serena's careers is uncanny. 1. Last year, both were coming back from injury. 2. They made a big impact after coming off from injury. Marat by making the final of AO and Serena by winning Miami. 3. They both made one GS final, losing to Wimbledon champs. 4. They both won the inaugural China Open. 5. This year, they won the AO by saving mps in the semi against the Wimbledon champs. 6. They both have struggled to win matches after AO. 7. They both lost in the 3rd round at Wimbledon, hampered by injuries. You know where this is going. You can also add this: 8.they both lost in straight sets. I had the same thoughts yesterday when i saw serena was losing. I was like : again?!!! I think it's quite weird. Hopefully serena will have an incredible hard courts and indoor season, and will win the USO and the Masters Cup then! ;D 9. Both are fair player. So many people don't like Serena but have to admit that she never tricky. BTW, Marat should have his own shoes shop, that can be number 10.

To the ESPN watchers (if any of you are still checking this thread)...
Are Fowler and Gilbert the commentators for the matches or are they just interviewing players in the booth? I really can't picture Fowler and Gilbert properly announcing for Wimbledon (or any other tournament for that matter). Fowler used to be just College Gameday and then he started showing up at things like Figure Skating Championships. Now tennis side-kick? Well, the guy gets around. And if Marat, likes him...
While I'm on the subject (for everyone)...
Has anyone been listening to the Wimbledon Radio announcers? I've had it on and off. The one guy who was annoncing for the Henman loss match cracked me up. I've never heard the word "drama" used so many times in such a short period and during a sporting event nonetheless. I needed to go out but the guy was amusing me so much, I couldn't leave his melodrama..."player is getting edgy, opponent is getting edgy, spectators are getting edgy, COMMENTATOOOOOOR is getting edgy." Or something like that. I felt bad for the guy when Tim lost.

Thanks Shacks Kristin I agree Radio Wimbledon cracks me up too ;D Even when I am at home, and have coverage I turn down the volumn on the tv and follow the radio. I can't remember which match, but the commentator ws referring to one of the players, saying that he did not have a single supporter in the crowd except for his wife........hhahah it might have been Tim's match. As for Chris and Brad they are the 'fodder'. Although I have heard Brad doing some commentary.

Hey everyone,
This is the first time I've visited in a while, and I am pleased to see how Marat handled a less than expected run at Wimbledon. He had beautiful matches against Paradorn and Mark, but had to run into the other kind of Spaniard in Lopez. Anyways, nice to see Marat walk away with an attitude to plan and contend again next year. Marat will bring his game next and he will surely again be a contender for a Wimbledon title. Let's focus on playing for Russia and the US Open!
