i don't drop words that often on the board, but i just wanted to let you guys know that i always come and have a look at what you say, and there are always words to make me smile and relieved. As many of you yesterday, i was so sad because of the missed opportunity (with all the seeded players gone..), and the timme passing by. But let's face it, the main issue has never been the draw. Anyway, after reading his interview, i was happy because he always manages to see the positive and we should all do the same. Because he is right: nothing worked(volleys, 1st serve, double faults and so on) his way but he still managed to fight. This is the kind of match where he would have lost in 3 sets a few years ago. So all that work starts paying off. it will eventually, it cannot be vain.
And now he has a new record: that's something. and knowing that peter shares all that with him is also a good thing. Next time he pays that bad, he'll manage to win anyway. because that kind of bad losses teach you how to win ugly, something he doesn't know how to do.
Last, his oncourt behaviour was just great! he totally made the show: with the umpire, his fairness... and it was so sweet to see the public cheer him that much. Paris will be on fire in October/November when he comes to defend his title!
And thanks everyone for the links, video, and transcripts!!

Nice to see everyone finding all the good stuff that happened even though he lost Just what we need positive thinking. Thanks for finding a pic of the chair lau, don't know why but it was just one of my favorite moments of the match. ;D I'm glad he has Peter around they just click together, understand each other, so I think Peter will be around for a long time. Marat is heading back to Spain to practice and get ready for Halle, no one can say he is not taking his tennis seriously look at the hours he is putting in training. Not sure what will happen on the grass but I have a good feeling about the hardcourt season. BTW, anyone see Guga in the stadium watching the match? One of the few ppl you see who always has a smile on his face.

Ah, just dropped by to commiserate with everyone I was going to post something last night, but to be honest, I just felt so down, so bad for him, that I couldn't bring myself to post. Hope that makes sense! Sometimes you need to be with everyone and talk it through, but last night, I just needed a bit of space Poor Marat.... I just read his post-match interview > he seems surprisingly up-beat about it, which is a great thing - he's not punishing himself as he has done in the past. And Peter....wow, is that guy Marat's Guardian Angel or what?? Why did it take so long for them to hook up?! Oh yeah, that's right.... Federer... .. ;D So, I'm here, I'm still sad for him, but it's not the end of the world. Just then end of another RG dream for another year... *ho hum*
