hehehehehe....sure maria? umm... not sure what you mean Chris. I'll be watching Sun morning 9.25 Estonian time, sure! And if you're good kids you can expect some kinda report, though I so suck at this. Although vs Davide it should be pretty quick & easy, hopefully, and not much to report.

Can you believe guys, they changed the schedule. I just read on MTF (stolen from Safinator) it was bc Marat has to get some award from the Parliament members (?) in Moscow on New Year's Eve. There are absolutely no news about it in Russian I could find, no details on the Hopman Cup site. Huh, and how you think I can watch it on Monday? Some ppl need to work on business days ya know!!!!!!!! F*** the award, what the hell is he thinking getting to Australia so late! OK, rant over, I'm going to get some sleep now. And Chrissie, your're right, I won't see Marat playing on Sunday!!!!!!!!! OK, now I'm pissed! Sorry!! Session Day Date Time Team Session 1 Saturday 01/01/2005 3.00pm Netherlands v Zimbabwe Session 2 Sunday 02/01/2005 10.00am Argentina v Italy Session 3 Session 4 Monday 03/01/2005 10.00am 5.30pm Australia v Slovak Republic Russia v Germany Session 5 Session 6 Tuesday 04/01/2005 10.00am 5.30pm USA v Netherlands/Zimbabwe Germany v Italy Session 7 Session 8 Wednesday 05/01/2005 10.00am 5.30pm Russia v Argentina Australia v Netherlands/Zimbabwe Session 9 Session 10* Thursday 06/01/2005 10.00am 5.30pm USA v Slovak Republic Russia v Italy Argentina v Germany Session 11* Friday 07/01/2005 10.00am USA v Australia Slovak Republic v Netherlands/Zimbabwe Final Saturday 08/01/2005 10.00am Winner Group A v Winner Group B

Sorry Maria guys, here's in an article dealing with the new schedule: Russian Marat Safin also has a conflicting engagement but worked out a compromise with cup chief executive Rick Williams, which will result in a scheduling change.
Safin was told earlier this week he was to be honoured by Russia's parliamentarians at a state banquet on New Year's Eve. He did not want to show any disrespect towards his nation's leaders by not accepting his award in person and asked the Hopman Cup organisers to rearrange Russia's draw.
Considering he and French Open champion Anastasia Myskina are the top foreign drawcards, the officials reacted with alacrity. Instead of playing Italy on the morning of January 2, the Russians will instead play their first tie against Germany on the evening of January 3, allowing Safin time to fly to Perth.
The Russia-Italy tie has been postponed to January 6.
The rest of it deals with Michaela Krajicek and Jiri Novak if you wanna know>> www.theage.com.au/news/Tennis/Teenage-Krajicek-joins-the-big-time/2004/12/29/1103996609998.html?oneclick=true

From the Australian dated 30th December
* French Open winner Anastasia Myskina was due to arrive in Perth last night to pair with Marat Safin in the Hopman Cup.
The Russians were scheduled to open the tournament proper against Italy's Davide Sanguinetti and Francesca Schiavone on Sunday.
However, Safin has a commitment in Russia that has delayed his trip.
So Argentinian Guillermo Coria and Gisela Dulko will play Italy and the Russians take on Germany's Tommy Haas and Lena Groenfeld on Monday evening.

I still don't understand what bl***y award this is!!!! I cannot find a word in Russian abt it! No news in Russian abt it! Well, hopefully they'll have news on it later. And like he's cared about the ceremonies before! Or maybe it's the banquet he wants to attend??? Yeah, very wise so shortly ahead of the matches! And don't worry, if you think I won't get home to see the match vs Haas (!!!! none the less) on Monday - you're VERY wrong! I'll be there! But I guess you'll have to wait for my report until later in the evening! Have fun everybody!

Argentina to Open Hyundai Hopman Cup in Schedule Change 28 December 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a schedule change to Group A of the Hyundai Hopman Cup Argentine World Number 7 Guillermo Coria, with teammate Gisela Dulko, will now play their opening tie against Italy’s Davide Sanguinetti & Francesca Schiavone on Sunday 2 January 2005 at 10am. This will be televised live on ABC TV from 10am (Western Standard Time) and 1pm (Eastern Standard time).
No 1 seeds Russia with newly crowned ITF World Champion Anastasia Myskina and world number 4 Marat Safin will now play Germany’s Tommy Haas and Anna-Lena Groenefeld in their opening tie. Session 4 should now become one of the highlight sessions. Anastasia Myskina has had a stellar year highlighted by her win at the French Open, reaching number 2 in the world rankings, led Russia to Fed Cup victory and capped off with being crowned ITF World Champion last week. She plays up and coming young German player Anna-Lena Groenefeld who Peter McNamara says “is Germany’s most promising young female talent for quite some time”.
Haas and Safin’s head to head sit at 2-2 and haven’t met since the 2002 Australian Open semi-final which was a long 5 setter in which Safin came back from 2 sets down to take victory and a place in the Australian Open final. Both these men have had good years, Safin rising back to number 4 in the world and Haas back up to 22 after not playing the early part of the year.
Australia’s chances were enhanced with the earlier announcement that world number one Lindsay Davenport has been replaced by Meghann Shaughnessy. This along with the early arrival of Mark Philippoussis and scintillating form of Alicia Molik augers well for the Australians who have only had one victory in the tournament’s 16 year history.
There will be no change to any Group B ties in which Australia is involved.
Guillermo Coria and Gisela Dulko are playing in their first Hopman Cup. Neither Coria nor Sanguinetti or Dulko and Schiavone have played each other yet in international tennis.
Patrons who have purchased A Reserve or B Reserve tickets to Session 2 or Session 4 can, if they so desire, exchange them for the equivalent reserve in the other session prior to the commencement of Session 2. The same seat cannot be guaranteed.
Hyundai Hopman Cup XVII, to be held from 1-8 January 2005, is the Official Mixed Teams Competition of the ITF. Zimbabwe will play the Netherlands on 1 January commencing at the special time of 3pm. Children under the age of 15 accompanied by an adult will be admitted free. The winner goes into Group B to play against Australia, USA and the Slovak Republic.
