not that we really needed to be reminded but...
Argentina Upset Top Seeds 5 January 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FOURTH-seeded Argentina has pulled off a stunning win over hot favourites Russia in their second round-robin match of the $1-million Hyundai Hopman Cup tennis championship being played at Perth’s Burswood Dome.
The Argentine pair of Guillermo Coria and Gisela Dulko clinched the clash with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Marat Safin and Anastasia Myskina in the doubles.
After losing their first match to Germany, the Russians are now out of contention to finish top of their group and earn a place in Saturday’s Final of the ITV mixed teams championships. The clash between Germany and Argentina on Thursday night will determine the finalist from their group.
Coria set up the victory when he downed world No. 4 Safin 7-6, 6-1, with the tie-breaker going seven points to four after both players dropped service just the once.
Earlier, Russia’s world No. 3 player and French Open winner Myskina cruised to a comfortable 6-2, 6-1 win over Dulko.
Tonight’s session will see Australia play the Netherlands and a victory to Mark Philippoussis and Alicia Molik should put the host nation on the way to a place in Saturday’s Final.

Marat Safin v Davide Sanguinetti: 6-7(0/7), 7-6(7/3), 0-6OK, I didn't see the match, they showed the Center Court Coria-Haas and I had to get back to work. So I'll refrain myself from any comments. The dubs are on now.

I see Martik hit rock-bottom again. No confidence, what-so-ever for Ao. Awful. F*cking awful. On MTF I'll bet "VCash" against Marat in every match. I( lost a lot on him, I'll win some now.) What was the last time anyone bageled out Marat? Or should I say: Marat bagelled himself?
