Caroline>>> BTW do you know what their head to head is? Ljubicic/Clement Ljubicic - Clement head to head is 3 - 2...clement won the first 2 grass03 and clay04... and Ljubicic won the last 3 on hard, grass and carpet all in 04... the scores dont look like easy matches.. so either one of them could win.. only clement doesnt really have a good year, to put it mildly.. so yeah.. i think this one is gonna be for Ivan too... Caroline could not agree with you more, its just so much pressure knowing that he has to, has toget pass the round of 16 to make it to Houston. I don't think I can follow the match, it will be to nerve wracking for me. like Steph said: from Tennis-X: ..... Safin will qualify if he reaches the round of 16 in Paris, while Henman will qualify if he reaches the quarters. .....so it's what ppl on mtf said: if he wins his first match he'll go to Houston he has to REACH the round of 16.. he doesnt have to win that round... And his first round is a bye.. second round (his first match) he has to win... and that already will bring him in rnd16... so it doesnt have to be that hard... just one match...(lets hope for the best:)) I'm very scared of Ovan. It was against him that Marat played a match with most tie breaks: 4. Marat hasn't played more tie breaks in one match with anybosy else, in his life. yeah vass.. but at least he won 3 of the 4 tiebreaks.. so marat won the match.. which is good.. too bad though that he lost their next match in 3 tiebreaks.. but anyway.. that was in 2001.. 3 years ago.. i dont think we should look back at that like if it happened yesterday... he can do it.. he's gonna show you vass

Moya pulled out, and the draw has been modified. Tommy Haas will take Moya's place in the draw (Anita>>he has a bye in the first round ;D, no Llodra, no Agassi in the second round, hehehe.... and could meet Marat in the semis ;D). score.fft.fr/tenor/043150_d_2.pdf

This from the Bercy site: Andre Agassi has withdrawn from the BNP Paribas Masters. The American had his agent notify the tournament organization that he was suffering from his reoccurring right hip injury. He is replaced in the main draw by Romanian lucky-loser Victor Hanescu. David Nalbandian, initially N° 8 seed of the BNP Paribas Masters, has also pulled out of the tournament, without providing the organization with an official reason. He has however indicated that he will have the tournament doctor, Bernard Montalvan, examine him today, Monday November 1st. Nalbandian is replaced in the main draw of the BNP Paribas Masters by Italian lucky-loser Davide Sanguinetti. AND On the TB and some of the other boards, they are saying that Marat has qualified for HOUSTON? PLEASE can someone confirm this? I am in a state of anxiety at the though, I went to the ATP site but they are not saying this, I want to HEAR this news HERE ON TGFR and then I will believe. There is also talk that Roger might not play Houston but this is still not official

This from the ATP Site: Coria, Henman, Safin Fill Out Masters Cup Field The playing field is set for the $4.45 million Tennis Masters Cup Houston after it was announced today that Guillermo Coria, Marat Safin and Tim Henman had clinched the final playing berths. They will join Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Lleyton Hewitt, Carlos Moya and Gaston Gaudio in the prestigious eight-player circuit finale. The field was finalized Monday following the withdrawals of Andre Agassi and David Nalbandian from the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris – the final ATP tournament before the circuit finale, to be played November 13-21 at the Westside Tennis Club in Houston, Texas. Sixth-placed Safin has qualified for the circuit finale for the third time in five years. In 2000 he reached the semifinals of Tennis Masters Cup Lisbon and came within one match of clinching the year-end World No. 1 ranking. He also qualified for Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai in 2002. The Russian has enjoyed an outstanding comeback season this year after injury restricted him to just 23 matches in 2003, when he finished 66 th in the INDESIT ATP Race. Safin began 2004 by reaching the final of the Australian Open. Later in the season he won the inaugural China Open in Beijing and Masters Series Madrid. smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_1.gif [/img] Hehehhe I would love to hear what Matress Mac and Mal Washington have to say............I bet they though our habibi would not be in Houston...all I have to say to them is smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_1_2.gif [/img]

Again this from the ATP site This is one young guy to look out for,
Monfils Fires in Paris World No. 1 junior Gael Monfils continued his dramatic emergence on the ATP circuit Monday with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Swedish veteran Thomas Enqvist on day one of the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris. Monfils, who was playing his first event since reaching the quarterfinals of his debut ATP tournament in Metz three weeks ago, next meets second seed Lleyton Hewitt. The Frenchman won the boys’ titles at the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon this year.

thanks Teresa. Monfils is doing great yes, i hope he'll play well when he definitely joins the professional tour. Lots of French players are great when they are juniors (Boetsch, Di Pasquale, Mathieu, Gasquet) but then they don't have the same level of play, or are injured... But woohooo at this victory! and also woohoooo for Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (friend of Gasquet) who just beat Mario Ancic! go frenchies! ;D But erm... Maria honey, Mathieu lost to Malisse. That was weird. he was leading 5-2, then i left for dinner, and when i came back he had lost the first set 5-7, and was 2-4 in the second, which he lost too... hmmmz, juniors like Monfils and Tsonga won their match, but Mathieu didn't.... not a good day for him Kristin you'll be happy: Marat isn't scheduled for tomorrow, so his first match will be on wednesday

Damita I first saw him play at Wimbledon and was really impressed, I hope he will continue to do well. I always had great hopes for Mathieu, but somehow he just never seemed to catch himself since that Davis Cup defeat in Moscow poor sweetheart, hopefully he will in time as he has great potential. I was so sorry to see that he lost his match today, Tsonga must have unsettled him, wont do a lot for PH's confidence I am afraid. Sorry to say, but I cant stand Gasquet I am happy for the frenchies, dont know Tsonga, just read about him, but was shocked that he overcame Mario.............as you very well know...... I have a soft spot for Mario...........so am not sure I am sharing your joy with this one.
