PS I don't recall hearing a very loud round of applause for the Big Yin being on the practice courts at 8.30am ... on the day he was flying out to LA. Girls, let him hear you ... Ooops! I missed that bit! That's the spirit! Moya just lost today to Andy and Dr. Ivo and Kohlschreiber are neck to neck at 5-5, 1st set... Still more to wait before Rafa hopefully makes history!! ;D p.s. thanks for all the efforts justsafin Have a good rest now

with a win tonight, Rafa will turn #1 in the next 3 weeks depending on what happens the rest of the weekend in Cincy: (Monday) week of 8-4 - if he wins Cincy week of 8-11 - Cincy Runner-Up week of 8-18 - Cincy Semifinalist and if I heard the commentators correctly, his win tonight will mean he'll be seeded Numero Uno at the US Open (!!!!)

YAY FOR MURRAY!!! ;D wanna see him in the final!! GO MURRAY!! ;D OT: Interesting stats though on where the current Top 10 was ranked when Fed first reached Numero Uno on February 2, 2004: 1. Roger Federer……..(1st) 2. Rafael Nadal………(40th) 3. Novak Djokovic…….(676th) 4. David Ferrer………(69th) 5. Nikolay Davydenko….(52nd) 6. Andy Roddick………(3rd) 7. David Nalbandian…..(8th) 8. James Blake……….(37th) 9. Andy Murray……….(536th) 10. Stanislas Wawrinka..(162nd) thats really interesting! check out murray and djokovic! as for the battle of the no1 spot (well it isnt really a battle anymore), i know rafa was gonna be no1 eventually, but i cant get used to a world where roger ISNT no1 - does that make sense? roger seeded 2nd in USO will just be plain weird! hope he can get his head back in order and work his way back up to the top (and believe me I NEVER thought i would say that about the smurf )

FRIDAY RESULTS [3] N Djokovic (SRB) d E Gulbis (LAT) 63 64 [8] A Murray (GBR) d C Moya (ESP) 26 63 61 - when Carlos was up a quick 2-0 in the second, I was definitely thinking he was gonna run away with the upset, esp since it took so long for Andy to wake up ... bravo to Carlos though, on all the tennis he had to play the last couple days (from a distance, he looked like a non-knee-taped Rafa today ;D ) [16] I Karlovic (CRO) d P Kohlschreiber (GER) 76(6) 76(3)[2] R Nadal (ESP) d N Lapentti (ECU) 76 61 - little tight to start with, but Rafa kicked it up a couple notches in set 2 ;D -- bravo to Lapentti on his week too (and seriously, first time violation on Match Point ?? - always the worst timing with those ) SF SATURDAY OOP CENTER COURT 1pm Start - [16] I Karlovic (CRO) vs [8] A Murray (GBR) [1] B Bryan (USA) / M Bryan (USA) vs [4] M Bhupathi (IND) / M Knowles (BAH) NB 7pm - [3] N Djokovic (SRB) vs [2] R Nadal (ESP) [3] J Erlich (ISR) / A Ram (ISR) vs [6] L Dlouhy (CZE) / L Paes (IND) or [2] D Nestor (CAN) / N Zimonjic (SRB)

So happy for Nole, finally somebody beats Nadal and in a really deserving way.
And what a week.... Federer loses his no1 after all his years to Nadal, who wins the points to become no1 while fails to win the tourny or even make it to the final after how many tournaments again? Doesn't that feel weird to anybody else?

after a spectacular 2 months, Rafa rightfully deserves a break (albeit a teeny one, with the Olympics looming just around the corner) Novak - Andy should be fun tomorrow ... and a round of applause to Annette for correctly predicting that ;D Doubles final: Bob & Mike v Erlich & Ram -- double the fun tomorrow, woot ;D (doubles SFs today featured the Top 4 - awesome doubles day) it is kinda weird knowing that Rafa will become #1 in a couple weeks no matter what else happens between now and then, kinda anti-climatic in a way - all because of the Olympics-adjusted calendar and such
