I'm a muslim, but I was never brought up like that. we do give to the poore, we don't eat porkmeat(that's just because we think that porkes are dirrty animals, I mean they eat EVERYTHING ...), but we don't go to a moskee and i don't pray 5 times a day. to be honest I don't believe in god, but being a good person and I do stand for those things like giving to the poore. I think that Marat is like that, in name he is a muslim, and now if he believes or not it's a part of him. and we live in 2005, it's a bit different then 500 years ago. so smoking, drinking, in my eyes are not forbidden.. but that's my opinion. it doens't make him a "bad-muslim" if he dates a non-muslim girl, drinkes and smokes (although I'm a bit disspointed that he does smoke..)

I'm really surprised. Religion doesn't change when the years passes. If something was forbidden then so its definetely forbidden know. That's written in the Quran (I really think you should read it.).
One more thing. If you do not beleive in GOD so you're an atheist not a muslim and you can't be one unless you beleive. And I really think that from the way Marat speaks he do beleive in GOD. Also whether Marat is good or bad Muslim is something GOD can only judge and no man should do.
