The covers are off. Anybody know why Eurosport don't seem to be giving you the interactive coverage to hop around courts? Bugger, think I won't be seeing his first match. Don't ask about my Broadband ... BT seemed to have mucked up my order. I have to wait yet another week. Good luck Big Yin. Give me a straight sets win so that the weather doesn't hold things up.

I've always wondered why they don't build a retractable roof over the stadium that can be put on and off any time like they did at the Australian Open. Are they too poor to afford a retractable roof?

They will build a roof in the nearer future, it has been decided, and there are also fairly definite plans to enlargen the grounds. Retractable roofs are horrendously expensive (even Hamburg's canvas solution cost about 12 Mio. € if I remember right), so it's not an easy decision to make - but of course we are talking about a Grand Slam here, not a regular ATP event. |

Dya know if Wimbledon wasnt my home grand slam i dont know how people could put up with these damn rain delays - it doesnt help when eurosport are just showing higlights of the baghdatis match which ive seen about 3 times already!
Marat must be bored out of his head in the grounds - getting told to warm up then nope rain coming - its important that if he does come he is ready to play - dont think his match (if they get on) will be finished today!
Also the roof question - RG plans to put one up on the Chatrier court by 2011 i believe - that will mean OZ, RG and Wimbledon will all have roofs - what happened to the outdoor Grand Slam!

retractable roof. when there's no rain, it'll be outdoor. and when there is rain, it'll be closed. so you'll have the best of both worlds.

it's officially a love-hate relationship for me & the TTC-ESPN tandem coverage here ... *sigh* just when I think they're doing pretty good ... TTC online had Court 1 streaming today, but because they've switched channels -- "blackout restrictions" mean no more video today ... figures with the weather and the timing ...  c'mon Marat!! |
