I only took a nap and what happened?
Marat lost to Ferrer already..........
Well, pack and move on to the next tourny. Will I be able to see him in Cincy again this year?

Ferrer beat Marat 62 63. Absolutely crap match by Marat! The loss had nothing to do with Ferrer being the better player - Marat really sucked! 51 Unforced Errors, and a serve percentage of 47%... He dealt more with himself than with his opponent; and in the end he simply got annoying, breaking his racket and lashing out at the - very good - umpire Carlos Bernardes and the ATP Supervisor. Deserved result, I hate to say, and soooo unnecessary. tv only showed the last two games -- that alone was mucho depressing since it showed said lashing out *shakes head* ... at least he won a match this week *shrug*

My two friends just called from Monte Carlo. They went to support Marat and JC respectively. Lucie (Marat's fan) told me that she was waiting for Marat in the VIP room after the match was over. Marat finally walked in with such a sorrowful face shaking his head meaning he was too sad to talk/sign or take pictures and rushed into a room. Then one of the staff told Lucie that Marat's bag was still there. He would come out to grab it. So Lucie kept staying there and waited and Marat came out again and took a picture with her. She told me after seeing Marat's oh-so-obvious sadness, she had been feeling hurt that she had neither appetite nor pleasure to look around no more......(well, she has planned 3 years for this trip !)
She said Marat really looked so depressed and disappointed that he must have taken the tourny very serious and so wanted to win. But Lucie also pointed that Marat was so impatient from the beginning, kept attacking thus lots of UEs which were awfully bad. And in the end, Marat was too frustrated to fight back as everybody knows that Ferrer chases every ball......
That's live report from Monte Carlo.

whew ...... Fed was on the brink on defeat - couple different times - and then fought back and won 4 games in a row to get it to a 3rd set TB to ultimately defeat Qualifier Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo -- wowza and Misha retired after losing the first set to Igor -- wonder what happened?

Surprised by the defeat - not really.
Surprised by the manner of defeat - kinda i mean less than half of your 1st serves in court and 51UE - that is just less than 13 games handed to Ferrer - i mean it sounds like he didnt play and seems like he didnt have to. Only 1 BP in the entire match - not very impressed indeed!

Well, well, well: i saw yesterday's and I saw today's match as well. I think that the difference between the two matches was that he actually believed that he can beat Malisse, but did not believe that he can take out Ferrer. I know that it is all suppositions, but well, what else can we do other than speculate really... Ferrer played quite poorly actually (and ironically I think he did not play too well in Valencia either, but fought well.) The first set's statistics were something unbelievable: Ferrer - 13 UE and 1 winner and Marat 31 UE and 6 winners. Ferrer won 35 points in total in the first set, out of which 31 were actually Marat's UE! I was very happy there were no commentators, I was anyway not happy with what was happening in front of me, so it really helped I was not forced to listen to critics as well On a different note, Marat looks pretty much depressed and hence depressing. He looked kinda sad in yesterday's interview, despite the rather good win he had - that makes me think even more that he did not believe he can beat Ferrer. Sadly, he might have had his changes had he played like yesterday at least. Last, on another different note, i like the current skinny big lipped brunette - I know it's been said she's not his gf, but nevertheless she was nice both yesterday and today cheering on him there. The idealistic (and imature kid) in me still thinks he needs something to motivate and cheer him up in life and I'm thinking the right woman might be one of the very few things that could make a comeback possible for him - you may all laugh now

oh boy, this was indeed expected but still Well, guess we're off to Munich now, right?? Btw. Mr Safin... while you're in Germany already, Hamburg is very close and there will be a whole big group awaiting you there... Qualies for that too if you're not granted a WC?? Pretty pretty please??
