Awwww man!! He's sweet, he's a real charmer. I've got tears in my eyes for some reason lol he really wanted this and I'm so happy he got it! Oh and that was sweet how he said such nice things about Hewitt and his 'gang', and it was good to see Dasha in the players box again, she's beautiful and that was the first time I've heard him thank his girlfriend or even say girfriend lol...Good on ya Marat!!

He ran to give an exclusive interview to the Russian TV channel NTV+, he said he was intimidated by the crowd in the 1st set, and his feet were not working, he said it had never happened in his life, he said he had never played that bad as the 1st set (exaggerating of course ). And he said that after breaking Hewitt back at 4-1 in the 3rd he believed he CAN win.

And yeah, the 1st time I've heard him thank his girlfriend. Dasha looked fine.

Sorry, I forgot - Marat also said he was intimidated by the crowd at first and that he was so nervous at the beginning. It's just so like him, awww.

it was destiny i tell ya! DESTINY!! I am just so Happy and elated and blissful about this..i was sooooo worried in the first set, i thought oh my God, nothing's going his way...oh please God, help him at least make a fight out of this...but he got more of a fight from it, He WON it! It's such an honor for him, the commentator said they're gonna make Marat an Honorary Australian citizen for it!! would'nt that be great?
i hope this goes on a long time...and i hope he becomes number one again this year. Congratulations to him

LOL, I hope to find something in my Inbox then later too.
And yeah, it was the interview for NTV+ in Russian. At least I get something in return for playing huge sums to them.
Oh, and I try to report on his reception in Moscow. They said it won't be anything huge @ the airport but I hope some channels will have him as a guest at their programs. And Putin will probably meet him. (Time for another order? ) I'll keep you posted. ;D
