Thanks heaps Ruth.  LOL, I hope to find something in my Inbox then later too.  And yeah, it was the interview for NTV+ in Russian. At least I get something in return for playing huge sums to them. Oh, and I try to report on his reception in Moscow. They said it won't be anything huge @ the airport but I hope some channels will have him as a guest at their programs. And Putin will probably meet him. (Time for another order? ) I'll keep you posted. ;D maria...hehe..can i say thank you in advance? |

CONGRATS MARAT! We all knew you could do it. What a great win ;D. Maybe you could win Roland Garros and the Grand Slam, but not meaning to put any pressure on you. Great match against Hewitt, and keep it up.

whooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! GO MARAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ESPN is showing the final right now (1st set has just started) but i couldn't wait so i checked who won and...WHOO!!!!! I'm soooo proud of Marat. He definitely has earned and deserves this and what a fantastic birthday present!!

I am really glad he won also, but where did he run off to? he left the court straight away I'll tell you. My husband pointed that out to me after I got home from the Open last night (I was outside the arena watching the match on the big screen and cheering for Marat). I replayed the end after Marat had won (my husband taped the match for me) and my husband said he had to do a urine test. Marat didnt look happy that he had to do this - well can you blame him? They didnt bother to test Hewitt! I'm so glad Marat won. Im not a particular fan of Hewitt even though Im an Australian, it's Marat I love not Hewitt!!! Good on you Marat, I'm thrilled, really thrilled that you beat Hewitt on his home ground. Looking forward to you coming back next year cos I'll be there waiting like I do every year!!! ;D (I've seen Marat play 5 times now and it's just the greatest thing to go to a Marat match!!). |

I also thought his speach was funny, I really liked the way he VERY subtlety dissed Hewitt and his team of people that follow him around everywhere. It was very clever the way he did it, to also thank Hewitts team like that.

Im new to the site (its great by the way) and a new Marat Safin follower (after seeing his semi naked torso im hooked!!). I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS on your fantastic win in the Oz Open.

I was standing outside the stadium yelling for him with a bunch of Safin fans. thank god I found them cos there were so many Hewitt fans around it wasnt funny. We all clapped and cheered Marat as loudly as we could after match point. Aw it was so frustrating I couldnt get into that damn stadium. Wish I'd bought that ticket now! At least I got to see him on the big screen instead of the small tv screen at home. The speech was so nice, like the man himself!
