you girlsss crack me up Marti I don't know what's wrong with him, noone but him knows what's wrong with him. But to be honest with you I stopped watching him play. AO was the last tournament I set my eyes on Marat Safin. Honestly? I don't want to watch him anymore for now. I have spent 8 years of my life supporting this extremely charismatic and talented player and I have loved every second of it. Whatever is happening to him now breaks my heart and makes me wanna bang my head on the wall. I truly sympathize. I mean it must feel like hell to keep working and working and training and training and then you get out on court in a tournament and lose in the first round to practically a nobody these days That must hurt like hell. I don't watch him because in case he decides to call it quits (and he will if he doesn't do another big some time soon because Marat is not a person who would play qualifications and challengers), I want to remember Marat Safin in his best form, best mood and best moments. I don't want to remember sparkless eyes and racket throwing. I want to remember lifting trophies, winning DCs, drive, anger and passion in his eyes, his amazing backhand, his brilliant serves, his grins and smiles... not the sulky frustrated player he seems to be recently during his matches. It doesn't mean I have stepped down, hell no. My heart is still with him, but I just don't want to ruin that precious feeling of being a Safin fan with emotions I really don't like when I watch him lately. For his sake, for my sake and for the sake of all those who come here and to other forums and stick with him in better or worse - I truly hope this is some sort of a prolonged bad patch and it will end soon and things will start to get better...Otherwise, I see no way out as terrible as it may sound

:-Oh Annie, I really understand what you mean!!!!!! It is to hard to see Marat playing this level, we know how fantastic he "was" playing in the past!!!!!! In his "age" it will be so difficult to come back, and after some injurys etc.!!!!! But I can´t stop watching him, because I don´t know how often I can see him playing in the future!!!!( o.k. no speculation about retire)!!! ; I understand: it is the same if you see a big movie star (which you love) in cinema, and then you see this moviestar just in cheap series!!!!! Like a B-movie!!!!!! But I won´t give up ,to imagine and believe that Marat can win a big game/match like the AO, Wimbledon or french open!!!! Let´s hope that Marat feels fine now!!!!!!! ;D

What happens to Marat? he lost!!!!! he will. some day!!!!! there was no interview!!!!! Will he play Miami? why not? ? LMAO. ;D To the point, again, Marti. You cheered me up there! Come on girls! Annie - only 8 years? LOL. He can still do it - and don't start calling me the eternal optimist again. ;D He's had a crappy run of bad luck over the last few months, but he needs to give it a big shot this year, otherwise 'what was the point of his training like mad and getting out there'? Retirement is beckoning - as Marti says 'he will ... some day' - he's well aware of that, but he obviously still feels that he's got it in him to give what he can, while he still can. The Big Yin that is, not Marti ... ;D You're all feeling pretty down and so may not want to hazard a guess at what the Big Yin is feeling. Me, I'd guess 'Bollockski (Russian effort again). I screwedski up the last fewski matches when I had my chancekis. Get fit and get focused. And just bloody do itski.' Chin up girls. It isn't the end of the world. Fairy godmother And when he retires, you'll all miss him like hell ... and start watching seniors matches! ;D

Mary, you are giving me nightmares, LOL I second you, i totally agree...don't even think about it!!! I'm used to Marat being around. I think none of us could get over this..not to mention himself... Neaaah, c'mon..Marat loves too much this sport and won't give up so easy..he's a true fighter..though bit lazy and moody sometimes, but he's a fighter..and he'll get over this. And Annie...please watch his matches again, maybe you're the one bringing him good luck by staying in front of the tv ;D Aaargh...just don't resign

Had nothing to do with Marat - I already got used to him not being around, he avoids every tournament I go to lately

I just can't stop watching him, on tv, livestream, live or just the scoreboard ... I HAVE TO WATCH!!!!!!! Just say i love the torture ;D, but i just can't stop it ... As for the great moments, they're locked in my heart, cherish them and hopefully there will come more of those precious moments (there's still plenty of room in my heart for it, Marat ) Like you said, Anna.... for better or worse, in good and bad times ( ...... till death do us part Jeeeez this sounds like a marriage, lol) Btw, hun ... Have you seen who umped Rafa ... Mr. Mo, shining brightly off the TV screen in his cute orange/blue shirt Talking about shiny ... Anyone saw Gonzo's shirt... It blinded me totally, almost had to wear sunglasses 8-)watching the match, lol ..... Poor Mario, he had to face it the entire match even closer .... Let's just sat he did a wonderful job for the rest of the opponents in that quarter of the draw by eliminating Gonzo and his fugly shirt
