I'll only accept the loss if he went down fighting. Anybody know if that was the case? Two tiebreaks. Bugger.

You´re right Maryb, Marat was fighting in this match and that is very important!!!!! He is a fantastic player and I am really sad that he lost, but I hope that he isn´t more sorry about it! It is so important for his selfconfidence that he believes in himself!!!!!! I haven´t seen the match, so I can´t say how he was playing! But I am sure that he was great!!!!

Oh well, I suppose that loosing on tiebreaks isn't the worst that could happen to him!!! As always trying to keep positive about things!!!

ToJo is an underated player - losing in 2 TB is a good effort i mean of the top of my head i can recall him beating Blake and Nalby in DC last year on indoor court - TB are just all about luck and guess Marat was luckless.
The stats are promising, not played for about 6 weeks and coming back from injury its been alot worse for him and the fans.
He still got doubles with Radek Stepanek Wednesday 27th : 1st Rd: Marat/Radek Stepanek(CZE) play Marcelo Melo/Andre Sa (BRA) 5th on Grandstand Court - play starts at 10.00 am local time. So Marat should play approx 18.00 local time (midnight GMT)
UDACHI MARAT!

Okay Big Yin, you are still in the doubles. Give it all you've got (and play some more doubles in the next few months to get some match practice!)
I get the impression that the match was tight, and that you didn't just give in. Keep that in mind and start thinking about the next tournament ... and win!
Double o fairy aka cybercoach
PS Get yer arse to Liverpool in June and I'll get you in shape for Wimbles. ;D No 1 coach, stand aside, the Fairy's moving in! I've had enough.

Seems like Marat didn't play doubles today. I was reading Marcelo Melo's blog and he said that they won because of W.O.. I guess they missed the game because Radek was too tired. On the blog, marcelo wrote that he and other plays, including Safin, took part in an ATP program called STARS. The program of the day, PRO-AM, should get players closed to the fans. I hope there are some pics!
