Hi coopbrew!! ;D it surprising to hear an australian not supporting Hewitt!.. the australian commentators give the impression that the entire country loves him!! I agree with you that he can get extremely annoying with his "COME ON"s but you gotta admire the guy for his guts and perserverance..quote] Well the australian media are wrong, dead wrong. Not every Australian has been supporting Hewitt. There are quite a few of us who didnt want to see him win over Marat. Lots of Marat fans in Melbourne, believe me! Even my Mum, who loves Hewitt, said that Marat deserved to win. I was so surprised, cos I thought she'd be one-eyed about Hewitt but I was wrong. She usually dislikes the tennis players I like, and likes the ones I dont (I dont like Agassi or Hewitt all that much and she loves them). Believe me, there are plenty of Marat fans over here who like him more than Hewitt. That just shows you how goddamned BIASED the media were towards Hewitt. The level of bias in the media made me absolutely sick, actually. Of course I expected them to want Hewitt to win because he's an Australian, but they hardly ever even bothered to mention Marat, you'd have thought Hewitt was playing the match against himself the way they carried on. Oh it was so SWEET when Marat won. I felt like opening a big bottle of bubbly to celebrate, but I didnt have one on me at the time (and had to drive home). It was the sweetest victory ever, imo!!!! Would you believe this: when Marat arrived at the Vodaphone arena on the Saturday afternoon to practise, NONE of the Australians would even hit up with him out of deference to Hewitt. How mean is that? In the end, one nice ex-player by the name of Richard Fromberg offered to hit up with Marat. That was so nice of him, I really respect such a man to do that for Marat. I'm embarrassed on behalf of all the other Australian players that they wouldnt help Marat out!!! They can go jump, imo.
