no wonder it (many people in other forums) says, the only one who can beat Marat Safin is himself.
Marat is so talented, if he can keep calm in games, he'll be so strong to be defeated!

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. I just wrote on another thread how brilliant it was that Marat dissed Hewitt and his team of followers, it was very subtle in the way he did it and could be taken a few ways but I took it as he was dissing the way people follow Hewitt around like they do. No he definitely wasnt dissing HEwitt, even though Hewitt got so much more attention than Marat, it really made me sick and I was getting so pissed about it all. Marat is too much of a gentleman to diss Hewitt or his entourage, he respects him he really does. Dont forget it's now 6/5 in their head to heads so Marat has only beaten Hewitt one more time, of course Im so glad it was this tournament in my own home town! ;D |

Am I really the only person who thought Marat thanking Hewitt's Parent,s friends and girlfriend was a diss? I really think it was a subtle dig at how all of these people follow Hewitt around to watch him play tennis, there was a picture in the paper today of Hewitts Mum, Dad, Sister, Friend Hayden, Roger Rasheed, Roger Rasheed's girlfriend and three other people intently watching Hewitt practice for goss sakes!
Maybe it is just me thinking that it is weird that these people do that and I want to find anyway to diss Hewitt.
If Marat was dissing Hewitt, it was very good the way he did it, if he wasn't.... He should have :-)

Guys!!!!!! As the tournament thread is still locked for me and no mod has unlocked it I post it here - MARAT ARRIVED IN MOSCOW TODAY!!!!! I SAW A SHORT CLIP ON THE NEWS. A LOT OF PRESS THERE W MICROPHONES BUT HE WASN''T KEEN ON TALKING AFTER THE LONG FLIGHT. DASHA BEHIND HIM BTW. And it was snowing a bit, the weather in Moscow is pretty bad and cold, I hope he won't catch cold. Poor thing had no warm clothes on, just a jacket. Anyway, ATTENTION ATTENTION - WHY I'M WRITING THIS - MARAT WILL HAVE A PRESS CONF TOMORROW!!!!!! SO I TRY TO WATCH OUT FOR WHAT WILL BE SHOWN AND WRITTEN.

I'm another newcomer to this board, so apologies if I screw anything up. I've been a bit of a Marat fan for years, but he completely won me over in the Federer match.
Anyway, I just wanted to tell coopbrew that I also thought Marat was maybe not really dissing Hewitt but slightly mocking his speech (which seemed really excessive to me) by thanking everyone in Hewitt's box. I just took it as another example of Marat's sense of humor, and I think that is why so many people in the crowd were laughing as well.
