This is from the official site ( www.maratsafin.com ):
21.04.05 News from Marat
Marat was devastated by his loss in Barcelona and his loss of confidence. He feels he is not being patient enough with his clay court game and concerned that he cannot make use of and take the break points he had whereas his opponent did. His base line game is to him a cause for concern and he has taken his poor performance very seriously.
In order to show his seriousness to his fans, Marat left Barcelona today to go to Valencia for the next ten days and spend the time going back to basics on clay. He feels very determined about this and wants to make sure he gives his all to preparing for the run up to Roland Garros. As he said there are two big Masters Tournaments coming up and he wants to prepare for these.
Marat loves having his fans there to support him but he also feels so bad when he loses. He wants to do well for his fans and feels he is letting them down as well as himself.
Marat did briefly meet his two winners at Barcelona when they asked if he knew where their tickets were and promptly phoned Amit to find out where the tickets were for his two fans - winners from his website. Of course Peter was in charge of the tickets and made sure the girls had their seats. So he knows of the competitions run on this website and wants the fans to be there.
More than anything he wants his fans support but feels he must earn it too. So it is back to basics to prepare for Rome.
Remember with Marat it is always an explosion - one minute down and the next he hits top form. If he has his way that will come very soon. Watch out for it.
And thid was writen in the forum (in case you may be in Hamburg.... )
A question re Hamburg?

In the light of the report on Marat and how he is feeling about his form and his non-performance for his fans - are there enough genuine fans who want to win a ticket to the Masters Series in Hamburg and be there as genuine supporters of Marat - win or lose?
Marat wants his fans to be there but doesn't want them to be disappointed if his form is still not 100%. He will try his very best and he is determined.
So are you a genuine fan and want to be there to support Marat?
Let me know your feelings as there will be 3 tickets for 3 winners for Hamburg.
