Press Conference with Marat Safin & Paradorn Srichaphan
There are currently 3 world class tennis players confirmed for next year's china open. They are, former US open champion, Russia's Safin, Asia's highest ranked player, Thailand's Srichaphan and former world number one, Spain's Moya. Safin being the special guest of the tournament, answered a few questions.
interviewer(I): How do you find Beijing?
Safin: I've been here for a day and have gone around the town. I find it quite good.
I: Have you ever participated in any tournaments in China?
Safin: I've played in Shanghai and China
I: Being a world class player, do you have your own idols?
Safin: Agassi and Sampras
I: How's your injury?
Safin: Having been out for so long, the impact is quite large. I went to 5 doctors and the last one in America was quite good. I'm currently preparing for next season and hope that I'll do better next year.
I: Having been number one in the past, what do you think of the current world no. 1 Roddick?
Safin: Roddick's skills have improved a lot and thus, he's won a lot of tournament. His current no.1 ranking is because I wasn't there. Just wait and see next year....(smiles)
I: What attracted you to play in China?
Safin: It's the different culture I guess...
