A Mulan Lady Meeting with the Mulan Man Wimby 07

Hey Everyone!!!

Firstly I would like to appologise for the lateness of my fan report been basking in the sun in southern france hehe

Anyway - Wimbledon. I went last year, but I missed Marat on the practice courts by 10mins which highly annoyed me, so with much determination, the aim of the day was to find the Mulan Man

Checked the order of play and thank god Marat was playing on an outside court... lucky number 13! We got into the grounds at around 9:30 and headed straight for the practice courts, but there wasnt many players there so decided to head straight to court 13 and get some good seats. I was sitting 3 rows behind where the players sit and I was praying that Marat would sit there, but sods law, de voest sat there.
Anyway, i was sitting with 2 andy roddick fans so the other aim of the day was to convert them and i DID ;D and in strode Marat, everyone was screaming, and I was in awe, my friend nudged me to remind me i had to take pics but my word - this man is HOT!!! Pics n photos dont do him any justice, ooo i was sooo excited!!!!
So I wasnt expecting much from this match coz lets face it, its Marat on grass at Wimby, but I cheered my hardest and cheered in russian (be proud Annie!! ) and to my delight he WON!! yay!!

But this day got even better. Ran over to his side and waited for his autograph - OMG HE IS SOOO TALL - i am 5ft10 and I have never felt that short lol
Anyway he is signing my book and I asked if he had anything to give away - his response "I wish I could, but even I dont get anything for free at this tournament" lol. that made everyone smile. So he says "Will this do" and shakes my hand! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D i was SOOOO happy!! i said i would never wash my hand again but for hygiene reasons, i think i should lol

Next thing we did was head straight to Henman hill to catch the end of the match against Moya. We had to stand behind the Pimms tent coz it was sooo full lol





Well wen he won after the most traumatising final set, we headed staight to court 9 for my 2nd fave ruski - Mr. Dmitry Tursunov, who my friend then called Dmitryov

O yea, and I got his autograph as well!!! (after much fighting with the guards!!) ;D

Anywho, I saw some other matches too, but nothing of interest lol compared to these 2 - especially Marat!!! ;D

Mission completed!! Another Mulan Lady has gotten her hands on Marat Safin!!

Well done Sabz in getting in so early for the first round (I missed the whole of the first set before I got in ). In your game set and match pic, I'm directly behind the guy's elbow in the right-hand of the frame! A few rows in. Roughly at the stitching on the sleeve. ;D

Just checked the videos I took at the match to see if I can see a white jacket. Think if I had zoomed out I would have got you in a couple of them! Damn. Fame passed you by.

Bear with me guys on the technical front. I'm liaising with Denise on this one to try and get them uploaded to the OS. We're almost there! I think ... fingers and toes crossed for us. ;D When we crack the techy bit on this, we'll let you know!

Hey Sabz! I was also at Wimbledon this year and was at Marat's first round match too. I noticed you at the beginning - I always try pinpoint where other Marat fans are, it makes me feel happy to see other people supporting him! Were you sitting near the entrance where the players come on? Your photos are great by the way and I loved the story about the handshake! He seemed in such a good mood that day - made me sooo happy to see him cross over the court to sign for people on the other side! Anyway, I'm gonna put my pics up - haven't had a really good look, but perhaps you might spot yourself in the background of some of them! x x
